Thank you. Just a little different and truly I just fell for it as soon as I saw it. Definitely one of those you just know bags. I was in light blue jeans and a red checked shirt, hair up looking very casual and it just worked too which is what you want. A bag that goes with anything and everything.

I bought my wife a used City Steamer MM in black/Magnolia on a trade site.

It seems great..but one question...the logo on the back between the 2 gold studs. In every photo I see of this bag, the circle LV logo is centered in between the 2 studs.

On this bag, it seems to sit low, as if an imaginary line between the 2 studs would go across the tops of the V..not split the circle in half evenly
How does yours look? Is this wrong? Normal variant? Replica?

The magnolia color is gorgeous! I am hoping what you got is authentic especially if you got it at a great deal. In my humble opinion and no way saying if it is authentic or not because of this one detail, to me it just does not look right. I have an epi version and the LV logo with the circle is centered between the two hardware studs/ button. I have also seen other steamers in person and online and have not seen that the stamping was not done right. LV's quality that can be a hit or miss these days. However when you look at how the steamer is designed, things have to line up a certain way. Also it being a higher price point, I think there would been more attention to detail.
Try getting the bag authenticated for your peace of mind. Not affiliated with Meme's treasure but I do recommend her. I have used her authentication service in the past. Quick response and reasonably priced.

I personally like both bags, but I have been favoring the City Steamer the late few years.

I prefer the structure of the City Setamer over the Capucine. Some of the softer leathers used on the Capucines seem to sag a little more overtime vs the CS bag. The weight of the MM CS vs MM Capucine and the available color selection has also a part of my preference of the CS.

It’s a hard choice, both the CS and Capucine’s are great bag. It should come down to the bag you like the best, you can't go wrong with either bag.

As a side note, I did order the Splash Capucine PM over the Splash Mini-City Steamer knowing the Calf leather will keep its shape over time and I prefer a the larger bag.

Please help!!
I finally bit the bullet and purchased a city steamer in my holy grail colors. Auth not an issue. Problem is it's apparently been stored because it's musty as @ell. The smell literally was overpowering when I opened the box. Bad enough for my h to name my grail "stinky" it's all leather obviously, what do I do?

I've read other threads and tried airing, wiping gently w a dryer sheet, and now it's sitting with a charcoal smell remover in it, protected of course.

Any other options? Haven't tried coffee bit I don't want to just mask it. Am I going to need to send it back?

Eta I've wanted this EVER since it came out and got a great deal. But the smell...

IMO you should return it.
You may not be able to get rid of the smell completely.

Got the smell out! The charcoal unit helped but found out my bil who works at a body shop had an ozone machine! Basically sucks all air and moisture out of the air. Put the bag in my car with it different rows, for 6 hours, 2 at a time. Smelled like ozone for 2 days afterwards but had come too far to turn back, I was in it:shocked: aired it out for 3 days and the smell is gone!!

Bonus, my car no longer smells like dog now either:panic:she's now fully dust bag protected and in a place of honor on my bag shelf!!
