I didnt do the inside. Not a priority for me. I dont really care about the inside and I dont want the bag to smell like EVOO. How has it held up over the past three years. Did it make it get to dark after time or does it make it prone to get dirtier?
Selena

I wished I could take the pics  . DH took my cam, he's out of town

It didn't really get dirty. It patina like normal usage and get dirty normally (Handles are darker than the rest)

I didn't share it to anybody about my 'secret' because I don't want people think I am weird lol
I think I read somewhere about rain coat with oil to make it as water resistant..I guess that where I got the ideas from plus I have Italian friends back in college who use EVOO for his hair and skin (I know gross . It gives skin nice rich tanning color. I confess I tried that too..

Why is light patina an embarassment? I love light handles on all my bags  .

I am not embarrassed but I hate the light patina! That is the worst part of buying an LV waiting for the pale and pasty white to be replaced by the rich and tan patina!

now i did it to my speedy 25 and my batignolles

its fun and makes me get all tingly inside, cant wait to see the results, they are tanning right now while i watch the French Open. after tanning im going to get a washcloth and wet it and wipe the canvas carefully where the oil got on it and then mist the inside with my chanel perfume!

me either. I remember the shinning monkey thing....alot of people ruined their bags because of bad advise. I wont use anything. Let nature take its course. IMO

Nobody had a bad reaction to the shining monkey. There was that big "thing" because the ownder was shilling her stuff here, pretending to be a regular person. Many other people, including myself, have used shining monkey and it is such a wonderful product. It did not darken the leather AT ALL like appleguard does and everything is perfect. I'd actually recommend it.

If anyone is curious, do a search. You will see that it is not a bad product....just dishonest owner.

whenever i see a light patina i question its authencity

I love having a light patena. I feel it looks cleaner that way, and much prettier. Not BRAND NEW patina, but maybe 4 months old and still light. Clean and pretty. Mine are authentic ;)

I think I gave lots of complement to people who carry LV with their well patina bag..wow..nice patina you got going there...
Most of them know what I am talking about..

I prefer a nice patina on my bags because it gives them a well-worn, vintage look. Before I got my new Speedy as a gift, I had purchased a vintage one on eBay with a beautiful patina on it. It had a "vintage cool" feel to it, and I loved carrying it. I've sold it since then, but I want to achieve the same look with any new LV I buy :smile1:

cristina, what kind of cat do you have, its gorgeous, my mother said we might get like a chincilla persian of ragdoll or something i dunno yet, but that cat is too cute!
