Sophia, I am not mad at you at all. I am not mad or angry with anyone here.

Molded bags.....that's something that occurs naturally due to poor storage. Gum on a bag? A foolish owner.............but to put food on a bag on purpose? Sorry, I'm sure you would not like to receive a bag like that. I know I wouldn't. And you don't know the long term effects of putting olive oil on it either.....but you don't care.

Maybe your buyers would be interested in knowing what you do to the old beater bags you sell.

I can't help but notice on your "me" page theres quite a bit of information about how to condition and clean a bag.....many products are mentioned, but I do not see Olive Oil there.

I am not attacking you personally, I do not know you. But your deceptive selling practices is what gives ebay a bad name. Nothing like buying from a seller who claims so much knowledge (your pamphlet), yet does not fully or honestly disclose their "cleaning and conditioning" methods. Why don't you practice what you preach? Why not disclose your Olive Oil usage? Why? Because you know no one would buy a bag with food oil on it.

I'd MUCH rather have a bag that was LOTIONED with olive oil as opposed to a bag with an uneven, blotchy patina covered in gum.

As to why olive oil is not mentioned - I will add it to my ebay about me page - but I only add new items to the care guide after I've tested them. It's very obvious by this post I JUST attempted the olive oil for the first time.

Maybe your buyers would be interested in knowing what you do to the old beater bags you sell.

Maybe! Maybe I should tell them EXACTLY what I do: spend HOURS polishing brass, conditioning leather, apple-garding, and peeling GUNK off the bags. I'm sure they'd be grateful!

Bottom line: you don't like my methods - DON'T BUY FROM ME.

Period.

Exactly my point! You have not tested it, you just applied it and are selling it. You have NO KNOWLEDGE of it's long term effects, yet the bag is up for sale. LOL

Oh don't worry, I'll advise plenty of people not to buy from you. I think plenty of people now know just what you are doing.

Carrying a bag with no patina on it makes you look like you can afford to buy new bags from LV, not old beaters from ebay.

That's a lovely concept. Fortunately I don't own a single bag from ebay, but those who are less fortunate buy bags, from me, that I have taken my time to generously clean and polish. Instead of buying a fake, these low-budget fashion lovers buy a more affordable "beater" authentic LV from me. It's not a so-called beater to them, it's a treasure.

Different strokes for different folks.

Did you somehow miss the other posters who had olive oiled their bags years prior, and how they've held up? I guess so.

Sounds like a threat to me

You have no knowledge of it's long term effects, only hearsay.

I will advise plenty of people, all my friends who do shop on ebay. I think they should know the truth about food products being put on a bag they could potentially buy.

I think the public would have the right to know. Why wouldn't you want them to know? Aren't you proud of what you are doing?

I'm extremely proud, actually. I'm making dirty bags beautiful - and making people very happy that they can spend less to get an authentic bag - and not have to polish and clean it themselves. Extremely proud. Thanks for spreading the word! :D

If you are as proud as you claim, ad the fact that you put olive oil on the bags you sell in your "me " page in nice big letters. Not in some small tiny print hidden somewhere at the bottom.

I'll have no problem spreading the word, but you already did, all over this board.

If I can recall, your cabas was not purchased in a boutique and the original owner of the cabas didn't buy it in a boutique either. So fortunately, or unfortunately, that is a false statement.

And who's to say that people who buy bags from you are "less fortunate". Maybe the people who buy used bags from you just like older bags, or maybe they're millionaires who are buying to resell.

Yeah in my area too a light patina is an embarrasment - like you're an LV newbie!

Didnt I read somewhere that you posted that COACH bags are the preferred bag of choice in your area? I'd think they could handle a light patina'd LV bag just fine then. Your posts are confusing.:shame:
