there is always a receipt with date the bag was taken in on it. i would wonder what the date would be that it was dropped off by them- that will tell you more of the story. (not that they should have done that without your permission anyway) you need to see that receipt. be calm. will say a little prayer it all turns out fine.

what a horrible story....I think you should let the tpfer call and ask for that type of bag. I cannot imagine a consignment shop sending your H bag for cleaning without your permission either. It sounds as if this situation is a little 'fishy'...get your bag back ASAP!

With the consignment shops I deal with, I know that they mark the goods down after a certain period of time expires and the item hasn't been sold. Since your bag isn't "on the floor" for someone to buy at the original price set out between you and the store on the first day it was in their possession, please make sure that the store takes into consideration the time it was unavailable and the date is reset to the date it arrives back. That way you have the opportunity to visit the bag to make sure it wasn't taken for a test drive and you and the owner know that the bag is not to be marked down from the date s/he took it in. I figure s/he has a buyer in mind who isn't willing to pay the higher price and is waiting for the bag to be discounted as per terms of the contract between you and the store.

You should have been notified of this up front and that the shop should incur the cost of "cleaning" the bag in case they are verifying the authenticity of the piece.

If you do feel uncomfortable after this situation, demand that the bag is returned to you immediately. They have to provide it to you upon your demand as it is your property.

Best wishes to you in this situation.

This situation is really horrible!! Totally, do not feel guilty about being upset about this!! No one deserves to be treated this way, and you deserve more than an explanation. It does sound at the most VERY fishy, and at the least no way to run a business. I hope you get this resolved very soon, and tell us who the offending party is if things aren't made right (and maybe even if they are...).

May 19. I remember that day well. I later on met up with my best friend to go there. She bought a dress that day as well.

Thank you guys for all your support. I have been feeling like sh*t. First the laid off, then I wanted to sell my baby because I felt guilty for having it without a job. Then I have been buying because I feel bad for selling it. Then I thought I was going back to my old bank but that didnt happen. And now this. If it wasnt for my ds I honestly think this is my bad year! :crybaby:

Just wanted to say once again thank you for your pm and support!!! I am stressed out about this and dont have anyone to complain to (that will understand kwim). Thanks for letting me vent. And I will post back as soon as I hear anything!!!

:hugs: to all.

Xoxo

Why not to tell them that if the bag is not shown to You immediately you will report them and their practices to BBB.
Also you could go to small claims (or whatever?) court.
You don't have to go, but they would have to move faster to find your bag if they lost it, or compensate you.
