Hi everyone,
I ordered a Kelly belt online and went to pick it up at my local boutique. At home I realised that the buckle does not click like my other one. I went back and they sent it to repair - now I got an email informing me that this item cannot be repaired. What do I do?

Your SA should be the one that provides you next steps.

If I understand correctly, you picked it up from the store sight unseen and an hour later when you got home you realized there was a defect? If so, this situation sounds pretty straightforward. Either they find you another one or just refund you.

Or are you saying you used/wore it. Then later realized the buckle doesn't click...then took it for repair, and they are saying it's unrepairable?

I never wore it, took off the stickers at home a few days after picking it up and realised it doesn‘t click.

Does anyone have an Elan Pocket belt? Is a pocket any bigger than the one Kelly pocket belt has? I only bought a Kelly belt without the pocket back in the day, as pocket these seemed to have a very limited function. Curious to see if anything other than a credit card can fit into the Elan Pocket belt

When did Hermes start machine stitching the belts? Have they always been machine stitched? I remember a time when getting an H belt was not easy. I kind of miss those days.

It fits a phone! Much bigger than Kelly pocket.

Has anyone else's belt split near the buckle insert hole? I pulled out my belt to wear for the first time in a year (got it early 2023) and saw that the leather had split from where I removed the buckle! Devastated but not sure if this is normal wear and tear.

How often do you use your belt? I don't think this is normal wear and tear. I've had my 32mm since January 2023 (over a year now), and mine still looks pristine. Perhaps it has something to do with mine being Epsom leather, which has an embossed grain on top of the leather (possibly acting as a tougher layer)? I know that Swift leather is more delicate than Epsom, but shouldn't split like yours did. Personally, I would call Hermès or if you have an ongoing relationship with a SA, talk to him/her about this issue and see if they can replace it for you as this is not normal.

Thank you both!! I just texted my SA about this issue - I hope they can replace or send it to refurbish!! I think I've used this belt maybe four times since I got it, then we moved and I hadn't worn it in over a year!

No problem! Always happy to help fellow H-loving people. You should mention that you only used it 4 times to your SA. Using it only 4 times in over a year is really really little. I use my 32mm belt probably once a week, and nothing like that has ever happened to it, and I don't even think once a week is thaaat frequently. I don't think this is a repairable issue, I think it just need to be replaced. Please let us know what your SA says in the end! Good luck ☺️

I mean I own a dozen of these belt straps and I have never seen that happen. I used to wear them daily. In fact, I will check my straps when I get home bc I haven't worn any of them in probably over a year. I have one alligator strap that I haven't worn in many years and would cry if it cracked like that .... I'll let you know what I find out.

Interesting how they sent it in for repair evaluation. I wonder if it is possible to glue the split back together and still have the same structural integrity as it's a the area where the pin goes through and back a lot. Curious as to what they will say in the end?

Yesterday I got my first Hermes belt (13 mm) purchased from the official online store, and shipped from France to me in Denmark. I was surprised to receive the orange box with the 2 dustbags (1 for the strap and 1 for the buckle) and nothing else in it. Not tissue paper, not a card, not any kind of invoice, paper, tag, nothing. If someone has gifted me this belt, I would've thought it was a fake Can someone who recently purchased a belt from the online store confirm this is how the orders are shipped now? I got the digital invoice of course, but when I watched unboxing videos, there was always at least tissue paper present, among other things. Compared with things I bought from LV, Gucci, Chanel and Dior, this packaging looked really really plain.
