One other random question... about a year ago my SA showed me the P18.

I made a comment about the bag being a little tricky to get into because of the strap crossing the opening. She then suggested a few alternate ways to handle the strap and lock rather than threading the strap through the double rings and then attaching the lock like the bag is always shown.

Whatever she did gave the bag a nice self-close but made it easier to get into and at the time I though to myself "ohhh sneaky!" because it was something I never would've considered. And of course I can't for the life of me remember how she arranged the strap and lock relative to the rings.

What do you P owners do with the strap and lock?

And also why are there 2x rings on one size of the P? I vaguely remember this having to do with her creative arrangement of the strap/lock.
I’d love to know this too. I’ve considered flipping the strap backwards so it’s not crossing over the open top, and still hanging down the outside of the bag. I too find the strap across the top kind of difficult to maneuver.
Can you ask your SA to show you again next time you go in??

Hi all, firstly I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! May you have a picotin bucket full of love, happiness and good health in 2021.

I would like to ask if anyone carries their picotins into the evening/night. To me, the picotin (especially in 18/22) seems more like a day bag. I can’t seem to shake off the thought that it should only be carried as a daytime bag.
Please enlighten. TIA!

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone uses a bag organiser for picotin18?? I’m looking at the one that 7rp just released and it’s €425 compared to $30 from samorga. Wondering if 7rp is really worth it and if an organiser is really even necessary.

You may you want to look up Youtube on Mel in Melbourne Channel, she did a super in-depth review on "Picotin 18 vs 22" and show the inserts. I am waiting for mine to arrive from one I got in Etsy.... guess it really depends if you want a relax look or more sturdy look and bother if your interior leather going to get dirty?

I have several photos of my 22 with a Samorga insert above on post #4,800 and #4,802. I’m very happy with it!

Thanks for your reply. I did watch it. Such an in depth review!! I guess the thing that I like about the 7rp picotin insert is it tapers at the top so it follows the shape of the bag when the bag is closed (ie lock is pulled down). Just wondering if the samorga insert is the same shape all the way through and if it looks awkward when the bag is closed.

I have the 18 and I would carry it at night for casual dinners, movies, etc. I would not say it's strictly a daytime bag, but it is very casual which fits my lifestyle personally.

I just use samorga! But I do think an organizer *really* helps to keep the bag’s shape. I used my picotin 22 for a bit without an organizer while waiting for the insert and I think I already started to see the little dips at the bottom. The 18 is in perfect shape.

Need advice on first Picotin 22: SA currently has black with GHW which is a classic, but my hesitations are 1) not sure how I feel about the GHW combo (I'm not a person that overly focuses on hardware - does it seem like GHW would feel more "fancy" than PHW?) and 2) all the lovely pics on this forum are making me feel "greedy" to hold out for a more unusual combination like eclat or casaque but its hard to know when or if I would have those choices.
I do think that for my first P 22, a neutral colorway would be more practical for regular use (phase 2 would be to get a P18 in a fun color). Any thoughts from those of you who have black with GHW? do you feel like you can use it year round? should I hold out for something more unique?

I love ghw and I personally think it does make it more fancy. But, it’s such a simple bag, you can really do casual or dressy. Also you’ll want another one because they are just so cute so you can add a fun color next
