Hi everyone – I’ve been reading these boards for some time now but finally have a story of my own to share of my first Hermes purchase! First I want to thank all you lovely ladies for all the tips and advice. I’ve learned so much from reading everyone’s post and reveals!
My apologies in advance to being a little lengthy, it’s just I’ve waited a long time for this! J
Ok – so hear I go!
At first I really thought that I wanted a bright color and a GP30. I finally made it to my local store to check them out in person. They didn’t have the 30 in person but did get to look at the 36. I asked a sweet SA to keep an eye out for the GP 30 in Feu but the wait was taking a while as these don’t come in very often.
In the meantime, I started checking out the Picotin and thought I should take a closer look the next time I’m in the store. As luck would have it, I had to go into NYC for an event that took me right by the Madison Ave store. I got there around 1ish and after a quick look around, headed downstairs to the leather department. I was approached by a security person (at least I think he was) who asked if I was being helped to which I answered no. He then kindly got me a SA to assist me who I loved – so nice! I told him that I was interested in seeing a Picotin 22 in a pretty color. He kindly went in the back and brought out a few boxes for me and after looking them over, I fell for a Bleu Brighton with ghw (love the ghw). We then went upstairs to pick out a twilly to go with it. J
I got it home and although a beautiful color, it just didn’t match well with most of my wardrobe so I knew I wouldn’t reach for it often. I realized that I just got so excited in the store that I talked myself into a color that just wasn’t going to work for me. So bummed!
Contacted my new SA and explained the situation. Came up with a new plan and what colors I thought would work better for me – Etain or Gris Asphalt with ghw. Guess I was more of a neutral girl after all.
I just went back this past Saturday and my SA had actually gotten in an Etain and held it for me (yay!!!). The only thing was it was phw. I was almost afraid to ask but did he have one with ghw? He said those are very hard to come by but he would take a look in the back to see what he had. Well, he came back out about 5 minutes later with a new beautiful orange box (still sealed) and low and behold, it was a Gris Etain with ghw!!! OMG – my wittle heart was doing flip flops! This was the feeling I had been waiting for! Yay!!!

Turned out that my original twilly went perfectly so kept that too – believe it to be HERMES Silk Jeu de Cartes Twilly Bouton D’or Noir Blanc.
Thank you all for letting me share my excitement!
