Ode to the Picotin

I’ve been stalking the H.com for a Picotin and debating between 18 vs 22 and pop of color vs neutral. I visited Rodeo Drive Beverly Hills this past week thinking I’d come home with at a twilly or scarf as a remembrance of the trip and to my surprise they had this Picotin 22 Noir with SHW!! I figured it was fate and pulled the trigger on my FIRST H purchase! :yahoo:The SA was so nice and it was a wonderful experience. I’ll be visiting NY in a few weeks so hopefully I’ll find a twilly, calvi and/or bastia for a pop of color.

For those who use the Maitai bag inserts, would you recommend Gris or Taupe for this Noir Pico? I’m new to bag inserts so any guidance or reassurance that Maitai is the way to go would be appreciated. Don’t want to mess up my first H bag ;)

Huge congrats, MSL4! I'm so happy for you! Your Pico is gorgeous!:hbeat: I like MaiTai's inserts a lot! I got the Gris insert for my Pico 18 in Noir, and the Taupe insert for my Pico 22 in Etain. The colors go really well together. And specially for my 22, the insert helps to keep it in shape. HTH! :flowers:

Congrats! Your bag is beautiful MSL4.

I highly recommend the MaiTai insert. I think that gris would be a good color for a black bag, but I think that you could almost get any color.

I also have a Pico 22 in etain. I also have the MaiTai insert in taupe. I really find it useful for keeping the bag’s shape and having some organization.

Congratulations on this beauty!! I also use Pico 22 and always, always Maitai bag inserts! They are super. Lightweight and well made they protect your bag amd also provide additional support and structure. Color is all up to you, but the product is a “must”, imo.

I have MaiTai inserts for my Picotins as well as other bags. I have Taupe for my Gold Picotin and have a Gris on the way right now for my black one. They are fabulous inserts, made very well.

HI everyone,

After going back and reading about fourty pages I've got a few question I'm hoping someone can help with.

1. I'm 5'1 and very petite, I keep going back and fourth with the sizes 18&22. I'm used to smaller purses like LV alma bb and fendi mini peekaboo, but don't want the picotin to look like a mini or oversized bag on me. Any suggestions?

2. I see that the pico is very hard to come by online, but what are my chances in Paris? Do they play games like they do with Bs and Ks? Will I have to spend a certain amount first?

3. I'm hoping to get a cooler gray with phw. Any suggestions on colors? I think etoupe may be too warm. Etain looks like a good option, but I've never seen the color in person.

4. I googled prices and saw on bragmybag they listed the price for the pico at
PM - 2675 us dollars and MM 2950 us dollars/2060 euro
Is this accurate? does anyone have the euro pricing for the pm size?

Sorry for all the questions, this will be my first leather item from Hermes and do not want to pick the wrong bag.
Thank you in advance!
