These FP pares do work incredibly hard , I think they look every bit as elegant as a shawl and a lot cooler.

Posting to multiple threads. Hermes Pareo Under the Waves by Alice Shirley. On site in the Maldives. Initially I was concerned about getting a CAD $600 pareo "grubby" but I am over that & love it.
shopthorn, I love the pareos and have had no problem with throwing them in the wash; yours is gorgeous, especially against that ocean background!

Does anyone wear Pareo as a shawl?
I am looking for a large scarf to wrap around myself when in convertible for wind and sun protection (I currently live in a warm place). I have some silk 140s, but I feel bad exposing them to too much sun.
There are some attractive pareo designs on h.com, and I am wondering if I should just get one of them as a wrap that I would feel ok to get dusty or even exposed to the sun for too long. Would be curious to hear if anyone has that experience.

Anna, many of us do so. It is easy to wear and wash, as you can read in this thread.
what are LxW dimensions of your pareos?
I am looking online at a Bleu Nuit MP with dimensions reported 36x68 inches and that doesn’t match the dimensions given in this thread or current H.com products.
