I’ve been a Chanel & Louis girl for a long time, but since this year is my golden birthday of turning 28...my sweet husband gifted me this beauty

Introducing my very first Hermes bag! The beautiful Lindy 26 in Swift Rouge Casaque with PHW! ❤

I cannot wait to use her!
This is just gorgeous! Congratulations and wear her well and in good health. And the husband of yours is definitely a keeper!

Hi! The bag looks great on you. What is your height? I’m deciding between 30 and 34.

And to people who need some reference, I'm 163cm, curvy body type, these are how L30(gold) and L34(purple) look on me. L34's strap is much longer than L30's. I haven't tried a L26, but I don't think L26's strap length fits my body type that well.

Dear Lindy experts, I need some advice.
I’m in the market for a bag I can use for work, something that can fit all my basic essentials (wallet, keys, sunglasses, makeup pouch...) and also a water bottle and lunch (yes, well-secured, no spills!). I don’t need to carry files or a laptop. Shoulder carry is a must, I know from bitter experience that handheld only doesn’t work for me.

I’ve set my eyes on Lindy 30, but based on the reviews I’ve seen and read I hear many say they’d prefer the size 26 - some even regret buying the 30! The weight and bulkiness seem to be some of the main issues. I don’t think the 26 is big enough for my needs, but the comments make me hesitate... is Lindy 30 the right bag for me?

Would you recommend Lindy 30? What are the pros and cons? Do you think some other bag would be a better choice for me?
I buy bags based on my needs and lifestyle. While some bags are small and cute, what would the point be if you cannot really use it because it's too small for your needs (especially if you are shelling out big money for it)?

Different bags serve different purposes for me.

I have a Lindy 30---I plan to use it for travel and I use it when I need to bring all the regular stuff that I need to bring. I almost got dissuaded buying it because Lindy 26 seemed more popular online than the L30. But when I tried it on, I figured I really needed the L30. I am happy and thankful that I did go with that choice.

Truth be told, I love my L30 as of this point more than my B/K. (They are all nice bags though, of course).

On the other hand, I also have smaller bags/purses. I have the mini-Evelyne and the Aline.....and also love using them for quick errands and when I don't want to and don't need to bring in bulky stuff.

I don't believe that a bag can be too small or big for someone's frame/height/built. But I do believe that carrying a bag is pointless if you can't fit what you need to carry with you for a specific event.

If you know that L26 is not big enough for your needs, then that is not the bag for you.

They're both beautiful bags and if you walked into a room wearing either one, I wouldn't notice. But in making a purchasing decision, I prefer the L30. The 34 looks clumsy and domineering.

I don't think the Lindy will suit your objectives. Have you tried the 24/24? It's a stunning bag, comes in two sizes--29cm and 35cm and holds a ton. I have it in the 29, and it holds Everything. However, a lot of people buy the 35 and use it as a work bag. I have the Lindy too, but frankly it's a bit more precious--the 24/24 is a wonderful everyday bag.

Do you know if the L30 is heavier than a B30?

I’m considering going for a L30 but some have a good point about it possibly being heavy for an everyday bag.

I looked it up online and it says that the B30 weighs 826g and the L30 weighs 931g. Assuming those are correct, L30 is heavier then. But it doesn't seem to me that way because the L30's shoulder strap makes it easier to carry it and I can use it hands-free. I also prefer it because of it's uniqueness. So far, I haven't seen any other bag shaped that way. A lot of people still get curious with it. If I am carrying a lot of items, the bag will be heavy either way. If I am just doing quick errands, I usually carry with me a smaller bag though. I would suggest you go to H to try and see for yourself. Although L26 and 30 are getting harder to come by these days.

Just had my first Hermès boutique experience and was so pleasantly surprised! I’d read horror stories about the Chicago boutique but they were lovely.

I went there to exchange a Lindy 26 in Bleu Nuit clemence that I somehow scored from the website last month. It was beautiful but SO dark and I just couldn’t quite love it. I ended up exchanging it for a Lindy 26 in noir veau volupto with a crocodile handle and gold hardware. It’s not what I imagined getting but I am thrilled with it. Foolishly, I didn’t snap a photo in-store; they are shipping it to me because my home state has a significantly lower sales tax base. So, no pix yet!

So here’s my question: thoughts on removing the protective hardware stickers? This isn’t a bag I’ll ever sell; it’s my first Hermès and I just won’t. So the impact on resale doesn’t really concern me. So it’s more about the aesthetics for me—I intend to love and use the bag. And before I decided to purchase new, I looked at many pre-loved on Fashionphile and TRR, and several had notations about “stickiness” on the hardware, like the protective plastic was left on for a long time (years), and then when finally removed there was a residue that clearly has been difficult to fix. Where I live gets relatively humid during the summer, which can apparently also cause some issues if the protective plastic is left on the hardware. So I’m inclined to remove.

But, is there any other reason why I should rethink this and leave on?
Hi! I was just checking out all the Lindies! How has your Lindy held up? Do you think it has lost it's shape over time? Does it scratch easily? Do you mind letting us know what the cost of adding the croc handle is? Thanks!
