Ode to the Lindy

Oh! We are bag twins - I got my L26 touch in noir Veau Volupto two years ago. You will love your Lindy as I have with mine. Veau Volupto is such a soft leather, similar to swift. Anyways, please remove the stickers ASAP - they will definitely cause issues to the hardware - there are already discussions on this in another thread on this forum ( Plastic protector on hardware | PurseForum (purseblog.com) ). I bought a pre-loved H bag with its stickers still intact but the hardwares didn't look too great - may need to get them replaced eventually. The only thing that I did was to have silicon covers for the bottom studs. Enjoy your Lindy in good health!
Hi, can you please let us know how your bag has held up? Do you think it's softer or studier than swift? Has it patinaed around the handles? Thanks!

@agent_luxe - sorry just saw this! My L26 still looks the same as the day I got her. Veau Volupto is, I think, softer than swift and the colour shimmers under a good light (even noir). No patina. But mind you, I rotate my bags regularly, so they all still look like new. If you're after a smooth, soft leather, you cannot go wrong with Veau Volupto. I don't see many bags in this leather though.

I have a L26 on its way

Does anyone have feedback on Mai Tai vs. WhiteFoxBags as the best (softest?) insert for this style, to retain its fortune cookie shape?

I mainly use inserts to keep the interior clean.

I have purchased from both sellers before for my B and Evelyne, but this is my first Lindy.

Thinking of a Lindy in Rouge Sellier. I don't have any dark bag and nothing in brown--mine tend to bright. If this was a brown w red overtones I think it would be lovely, but if not . . . Thoughts?
If you have nothing in dark or in browns, perhaps there is a reason? IDK :)

Yes, it is a brown with dark red (almost purplish) undertones. The color changes depending on the lighting but it definitely reads brown most of the time. I was not someone who owned brown bags (no brown clothing either) but I have found my rouge sellier Kelly to be a great neutral, especially when black is too harsh. I personally love it.

+1!

It leans towards deeper tones of burgundy to me, and more purple when it's under the harsh sunlight. I agree that it is a great neutral! Huge fan of RS here as well. That being said, if you adore bright colours, RS is not suitable for you, as it tends to be really muted and dark. My SA says it's like dark chocolate lol, with a shine. I like it best with GHW.

hi everyone, I'm looking to buy my purchase my first Lindy 26 and wondering which leather would hold up the best and won't collapse too much over time? Clemence seems to be common, but wondering how it does with test of time? Thank you.

Hi. I have 2 Lindy 26's in Evercolor leather and 1 in Clemence. For me personally, I like the Evercolor as it's not as smooshy. You could also use a bag insert if you do decide to get a bag in Clemence as that will help keep it more structured.

how hard it is to get a L26 in ever color in US? I really do not like Clemence. My SA tells me it is very uncommon. Thanks!

Hmmm, I don't know how it currently is, sorry. Since the pandemic I haven't gone inside an Hermes store. Would you consider a reputable reseller as an option? Might be easier to find that way. One of my evercolor bags was purchased this way. I bought it new from I think it was Madison Avenue Couture but not sure about the name of the company. Edit: Just looked, they don't have any Evercolor in stock. I think you just need patience and keep searching. Good luck!
