Hello all , so happy to share the recent addition to my horn collection! Here is my new Lift pendant in CW96, Vert Intense, a wonderfully cheerful, green. And I've also posted current 'family' photos of my three Lift pendants, in black, white, and green. I'd love to add to my collection, with more lovely lacquered colors. A pale turquoise is one I dream of finding!

Beautiful your trio, that new green one is a real cusp colour ...is it blue, is it green? That makes it so interesting and for sure it'll spark up any outfit.
Model it soon please !

D Lee, I understand your qualms about having the Hermes name and "Made in Vietnam" showing on the face of your Lift. Having said that, I agree with Etoile that unless someone is standing very close, these are hard to read. E.g. maybe a friend with whom you're having lunch, etc. might notice, but random people passing on the street would never see this.

I don't own a Lift, but actually feel that the horn (non lacquer) side is more beautiful! As Etoile's photos show, the color of the lacquer shows through the translucent horn, and that plus the beautiful markings of the horn are what really catch my eye. The lacquer side is more bold and striking in its color and design, while the horn side is so elegant and harmonious (this is what I love about natural materials).

So I say, ladies, wear your Lifts however you please!!! :p
Thx, svenesaes! U have been most helpful. The reverse sides of my pendants are actually quite pretty. Let me start wearing the one with the least noticeable imprint & see how it goes. I just wonder why Hermes suddenly does such a tacky thing! Is their intention to stop people from wearing the horn side of the Lift pendant?:nogood:

Hi etiole,
Thx very much for your prompt response! I just am not confident enough to wear my horn with the place of origin & brandname showing, so I'd like to have a second opinion. I really don't like to be a walking billboard for Hermes! But u are quite right, some imprints are less
visible than others & with these, I'd consider wearing the horn side out!:smile1:

And BTW! your green pendant is lovely. This is the color of expensive Chinese jade!

I completely understand, D Lee, as I'm not fond of logos either. Luckily for us, there are many discreet and beautiful Hermes items to love! ;) And regarding green jade, what a good idea! Perhaps I could find a pair of green jade earrings to compliment my new pendant. (I wear a pair of black jade earrings with my black Lift.)

Is it too personal to ask if u are ethnic Chinese? If so, happy Chinese New Year! Yes, I believe black jade goes much better with your black Lift than onyx. Do show us some modelling pictures! Your green Lift pendant is of such a luscious color that it is best paired with this shade of Chinese jade!( Actually I don't know much about jade. It is only for ladies of a certain age.:pBut I own those jade earrings!:graucho: )But together with your 140 shawl, the ensemble would look spectacular!

Hello D Lee

No, I'm not Chinese nor Asian, but thank you for the happy new year wishes! :smile1: And sending happy new year wishes to you, as well!

Many thanks for sharing a photo of your jade earrings with us, so fun to see! It was only recently that I purchased any jade. As I find the Hermes horn designs to be more statement pieces, I went searching for simple jewelry, to compliment them. Below is a photo showing my black Lift, with a pair of black jade earrings, and two black jade bangle bracelets.

The jeweler that made these jade earrings, also makes the same style in many other stones (green jade, lapis, agate, pearl, etc...), so I will investigate the green jade. But I now think it may feel like too much green, with my green Lift! Often I find an Hermes horn necklace looks great on its own, without any earrings at all.

I don't want to get too far off this thread's topic of Hermes horn, but just wanted to share the simple jade pieces that I found 'play well with' Hermes!

I feel the same way about the H horn pendants and usually don't wear other jewelry with them and btw your JungleLove dd is the one I really wanted and was talked out of by my SA. She thought the pattern wouldn't show up enough. I think it does and yours is gorgeous!:smile1:

etoile - I agree with you about minimal earrings with the Lift pendant. There is an intricacy to the interior that brings the eye directly into its center - like a mandala might. With the open Isthme, my Dalvy and the Petit H pendants, I chose them because they work well with my diamond studs and hoops. I think they are more minimal than the Lift, so perhaps they can work with a few more shapes, even organic ones. HTH. I can't wait to see some silks for your new Lift. I thought of you today when I pulled out the Au Couer de la Vie mousseline - the intense green center would be so pretty with it. :)

Hi etiole & lanit:
ITA with both of u! The Lift pendant is a statement piece & I normally also pair it with stud or hoop earrings. Thx etiole, your lovely dangling black jade give me a new idea as well!

I am paranoic & whenever I put on my 140 GM or summer twill, I go without jewellery on my hands other than my watch. Seeing etiole's bracelet, suddenly I want to purchase one of MT's horn bangles. Etiole's thin jade bangles no doubt go very well with the Lift pendant, but what do u guys think about a MT horn bracelet? Will it be too much? BTW, one of my Lifts is griolle. TIA.

Oh etiole, do give us some modelling shots. I'd really want to see your green Lift in action. It's such a lovely shade!:smile1:

Thank you dear Maedi! I now remember that we chatted about it last spring. It didn't help that the dip dye colors were not well represented on H.com, it was very late to arrive, and then seemed scarce! I've just done a bit of hunting for you (via a quick call to H.com), and there are a few out there! :smile1: Maybe your sales associate could do a quick search for you? Details here... :graucho: Let me know if you have success!

Dear lanit, you've chosen such beautiful Hermes pendants, and as you note, they look so great with clean, simple earrings we all have as favorites. I love your Au Couer de la Vie mousseline, so ethereal and beautiful! So sweet of you to think of me, and it would look so lovely with the green Lift (at least two left at my boutique). ;)

Dear D Lee,

I own one of MaiTai's horn bangles, and love it! It's so beautifully crafted, and of course MaiTai is so sweet to deal with, being so helpful, conscientious, and thoughtful. As I have have a slight build, her bangles feel more like statement pieces on me. But if you can find a good color match, I think they can beautifully compliment the Hermes horn pieces. Perhaps spend some time going through previous pages on this thread, as I think others may have posted wearing her items with Hermes.

I'd love to see photos of your pendants. Is Griolle a charcoal grey? A new Lift color for spring is "Azalee" (as seen on the french H.com). Looks to be a beautiful pink!

I will give it some thought. Thank you soooo much for investigating on my behalf.:D Of course, now my head is with the new scarves as well ;) Totally agree about the colors not being represented well.

I'd thought of giving one as a gift, and was very surprised when I inquired, that there were still some around! But yes, there are the new items to consider. ;) There's always something fabulous, right around the corner, at Hermes!

I've been following your discussion about jewellery to compliment H horn pendants .
I eventually found a pendant I felt comfortable wearing [Dalvy] after years of passing on them . Like Lanit and Etoile I wouldn't double on wearing horn , my own view is that it would downgrade the whole thing somehow .....but then I never wear more than two pieces of jewellery at a time . My preference is for tiny gold earrings , I find silver a bit cool for the warm tones of horn .
It's great to share views but eventually we have to be able to mean what we wear KWIM?
