Hello all , so happy to share the recent addition to my horn collection! Here is my new Lift pendant in CW96, Vert Intense, a wonderfully cheerful, green. And I've also posted current 'family' photos of my three Lift pendants, in black, white, and green. I'd love to add to my collection, with more lovely lacquered colors. A pale turquoise is one I dream of finding!

Super gorgeous, both the green and your entire collection. The Lift is marvelous pendant; it always gives a spark to an ensemble. I hope many more come to you!

Congrats etoile, these are such fun!

Many thanks dear arabesques, and textilegirl! When I purchased this last one, my boutique had three green Lift pendants to choose from. It felt like such a luxury to be able to choose the one with the horn pattern, that I loved best. I love that each one is so unique, due to the natural variation of horn.

Hi etoile,
I got 3 Lift pendants last fall. Unfortunately they all have the words ' Made in Vietnam' etched prominently in the middle of the top portion of the horn. At the moment I am wearing the pendants only on the lacquer side. Would u wear your pendant on the horn side when those words are highly visible, even from a distance? TIA!

You've made such thoughtful, lovely choices! Even the pendants' backs are beautiful.

Thanks so much, Bond7Girl, and seton! I have a number of other Hermes horn pieces as well, and find it so exciting and fun, when I find a new piece! They are so beautifully crafted, and unusual. I'd never seen anything else like them, before I started shopping at Hermes.

Dear D Lee,

It seems Hermes started imprinting "Made In Vietnam" on the back of the Lift pendants about a year ago. My first two (my black and white) are both free of the imprint, while the green one I just purchased, does have "Made In Vietnam" on the reverse.

I was dismayed when I saw that they'd begun doing this. I certainly don't mind that they wanted to add this notation to the pendants, but do wish they could have done so in a more discreet and elegant way. :wondering If I do wear my green pendant with the reverse showing, one would have to be quite close to read the small print, and part of it is obscured by the cord...so I wouldn't hesitate to wear it this way. But I do understand how you feel, and wish it wasn't there at all!

I did notice that on the other two green ones I had to choose from, the reverse side of both had darker horn coloring, and therefore the imprint was harder to see. I just preferred the one I chose, for its overall aesthetic, so am choosing to overlook the imprint issue! Perhaps the marking is less noticeable on yours to others, than you think it is? Maybe try each of your pendants on, with the reverse showing, and stand a reasonable distance from a mirror. Perhaps on at least one of them it's less noticeable? Hope this is all helpful in some way! ;)

Hi etiole,
Thx very much for your prompt response! I just am not confident enough to wear my horn with the place of origin & brandname showing, so I'd like to have a second opinion. I really don't like to be a walking billboard for Hermes! But u are quite right, some imprints are less
visible than others & with these, I'd consider wearing the horn side out!:smile1:

And BTW! your green pendant is lovely. This is the color of expensive Chinese jade!

D Lee, I understand your qualms about having the Hermes name and "Made in Vietnam" showing on the face of your Lift. Having said that, I agree with Etoile that unless someone is standing very close, these are hard to read. E.g. maybe a friend with whom you're having lunch, etc. might notice, but random people passing on the street would never see this.

I don't own a Lift, but actually feel that the horn (non lacquer) side is more beautiful! As Etoile's photos show, the color of the lacquer shows through the translucent horn, and that plus the beautiful markings of the horn are what really catch my eye. The lacquer side is more bold and striking in its color and design, while the horn side is so elegant and harmonious (this is what I love about natural materials).

So I say, ladies, wear your Lifts however you please!!! :p
