So gorgeous! I say keep, use, and enjoy. I have a feeling you'll always be thinking about it if you return it. And if you do decide in a few years that you want to sell it, it should still hold value if in good condition.

I have returned two bags after I tried on with strap. It didn't occur to me that taking the plastic off would be a problem! Hermes has lovely customer service so if you are worried I would just call and ask.
(I didn't really walk around or anything just tried with strap to see how it would look and feel on. I was very worried about scratching the hardware.)

I think it should be fine to try on the bag with the strap. After all, if you were trying it on in the boutique and decided not to buy it, the simple try-on wouldn’t prevent them from selling the bag to someone else.
For what it’s worth, my Gold Evie PM is my most used bag by far. I also have a casual life and it just seems perfect for everything. I hope you keep it and love it!

I am a new addition to the club, after just buying a black Evie PM III from Hermes online last week. I absolutely love it. My dream is to find an orange because I love orange bags so much. I found one in the GM size in really pretty good condition from 2012 from Fashionphile for $2600, but I would of course love to buy one brand new. Does anyone know when the color Orange or Feu as I have seen it called would come out? I would have thought it would be a fall color, but who knows. Or does Hermes even still make the color orange in the Evie PM III? I may just keep the Fashionphile purse, but $2600 feels a little high for a 8 year old bag.

I don’t know about the Evie PM III, but I saw on the website that the TPM was offered in Feu, so my guess is that they are still making that colour!

Also, do you know if the red color online now is a "special" color or do they always have red? I didn't see Gold, but I saw Etoupe and Beige. Gold seems really pretty and versatile, and wondering if I'm crazy to want red and orange

Not sure about the special colours - I consider myself a newbie to H still - but I have seen a red (I think Rouge Tomate) Evie on the website recently, so I would recommend keeping an eye on the website every now and then!

Well, I may have just lost my mind! I have been selling all of my bags, because I just have too many and was toying with the idea of purchasing an Evie 29. Casually browsing the H website today, took a deep breath, and pulled the trigger!! Evelyne III 29 in etoupe is on her way to me!! Thankfully funded by previous purchases!
Congratulations! And I totally get you. I also sold all my bags and replaced with 2 new ones that I would use more and suddenly the Gold Evelyne PM appeared online and I pulled the trigger. Still debating whether to keep or not. They are gorgeous bags!

I have definitely seen feu in PM in the recent past on the Hermes website.
I agree about that being a lot for an 8 yo bag. It seems like older PMs on Fashionphile get priced at around $2500 to start. More worn, less and newer, >3k.
Do you find that this size is adequate to carry what you need with your small kids? Toys, diapers, wipes, etc.?
I have an Evelyne III GM and it's definitely large enough to be a mom bag, but lately I find myself wishing for the PM just to shave some weight off. The GM gets very heavy and it is really large on my 5'4" and 100 pound frame. If the PM can hold the mom essentials, I'll probably pick one up soon.
I love the gold too! That was my first choice for color. But, I was afraid of the white shoulder strap. I don't baby my bags too much!
I keep telling myself that this will be my 'only' bag!

I first got a bag insert for my Evelyne PM from Senamon, and then got another from Samorga because it sells a set of two inserts, one of which is for the side pocket. I was using the Sarmoga ones and noticed lines on the leather (please see the pics attached). I preferred Samorga's product/hard felt overall, but it seems to leave lines on the leather. I use them in place only when I use the bag. I recently switched to the Senamon one and it seems to happen less.
Does anyone have a similar experience?
