Glad I could help! My Evies are my workhorse bags. I can’t believe the blue sapphire one is almost 6 years old!
So far I’ve had positive experiences with doing returns, though like you said it doesn’t happen as fast as I I would like. I don’t recall it taking a month though! That isn’t typical in my experience. They were really good and apologetic about handling the return of that bag too.
Blue encre definitely leans purple. I was a bit disappointed when I saw it because I was hoping it would be like a darker blue electric, but it has very strong purple tones in my opinion.

Hello! I have finally joined the Hermes club with my new Gold PM PHW Evelyne! I love it, but wanted to ask if anyone had had a strap issue: one end of the strap has detached itself twice already from the bag at random times. I can't see any defect on the clip so I wanted to check if this had happened to anyone else?

Yes, it has happened to me several times with my Etoupe Evie, but only once with my Noir Evie. I don't know why... 
I have one strap that does that. Not good. If you bought at store, I would contact the SA. If you bought on line, I have no idea how you would deal with that.
The spring in the clip is not tight enough. This should not be happening. Hermes should replace it, but do not know what that entails. I just changed my strap as I had 2 straps the same color (black).Welcome to the club, dear londongal2009!
Congrats on your new bag! Yes I had that issue a couple of times when I first started using the bag (5 years ago). I just posted about this on the LV forum. The trick was to make sure the strap is hooked “towards” the bag. So the opening of the hook should be towards the bag. And also make sure your strap isn’t twisted on your body when you carry the bag. Hope that helps
I agree that the opening of hook should be towards the bag, but the clip should not be opening either way. I have many Evelynes and have only had the one strap that opens and it opened in either direction.... it is really loose.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I brought the bag to the NBS store in London (despite having bought from the website). The SM was very nice about, and they are going to send it to France for inspection asap, so I should hopefully get an update after the new year. I was very surprised and disappointed given that I had the bag for literally 1 day!
