Anyone have experience with the leather stretching out on a TPM size?

I just bought a H Piccolo pencil case to use to hold my small miscellany but the Piccolo does not really fit standing up on it's end as I'd planned and kinda sticks out. So now I'm thinking I'll put it lengthwise tucked across the bottom of the bag....

So here's the kicker: it just barely fits because the Piccolo length is basically exactly as wide as the TPM... I thought the Piccolo would be 1/2" shorter than the bag is wide and thus slip right into place, but I'm wrong. It takes a little "nudging" to get it in there - I have to tuck it in there manually. Once it's in, the Piccolo sorta "pokes" into the leather on the left/right sides of the Evie (on the sides under the clasps, not on the front/back panel).

Do you guys think this is a no-no and would stretch the Evie over time and make it look bad? Or would you not worry about it?

personally, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I'm going to Switzerland next week, and probably a down jacket or equivalent is required for the cold weather. Would you recommend carrying an Evie for the trip? TIA
I'm living in Switzerland and I can recommend the Evie for your trip. Now whe have 4-6 degrees daily for the next couple of days. Have a nice trip!

I received my new and first Evelyne in June and recently noticed the gold chipping from the button closure. I rarely button it (maybe 3x/month) and it’s my everyday bag. The gold on the straps and d-ring are still intact. Is this normal wear and tear after several months?

Are you sure it is chipping? Have your tried to polish off the black with a polishing cloth?
I looked at two of my old Evelynes that have gold hardware. Both are over 10 years old and the snap looks fine. It seems to me that for quite a few years Hermes only offered Evelynes with silver hardware. Maybe the new ones with gold have a different alloy. My snaps look a bit more like brass not as gold as yours.

Should I get it?? :graucho:

Blue nuit ghw

I have two already, etain and gold

I am in same dilemma. Only difference is I do not yet own any Evelyne. I am travelling and there are many Evelyne 29 in Black GHW, Etain GHW, Deep Blue (unknown hw) and Etoupe PHW. The black is definitely a winner on me but I am hesitating as I am worried I will not wear it for work or leisure. Hmm....sorry am not helping you...just sharing my “exasperation”.

I think you’d use it for leisure. It’s such a wearable, easy bag. It’s so wearable that I want a third! :P

You really can’t go wrong with the Evie.

You’re right! I was unhappy for 2 days. I visited H again and finally got my Vit H (Evie and a short bag strap for my Kelly)! Hehe...thank you, @PC1984!
