Ode to the Evelyne

Magnolia is probably near the end of its seasonal run. BE is closer to a classic color and would theoretically be more currently available but I haven’t seen any in ages. Deep Blue and Vert Bosphore are the more current blue/greens and Rose extreme for pink (though I haven’t seen any of these too often either)
Thanks for the insight...I haven't seen these colors in forever for the mini evies either but do see them in Clic 16 wallets and other slgs...

I recently found some fun strap options that work nicely with my Evelyns. I like to switch up the look. These are really wide and comfortable. Probably a little long if you are shorter and not adjustable. The company is "Salt". Thought this one looked great with Etoupe. I think they have a cyber Monday deal! I took advantage and ordered another one :)

Randomly I saw one of these in person last night and was thinking how flippin' gorgeous they are! Thanks for the discount alert!

FWIW the hardware is a sort of burnished-brass and definitely a bit clunky/oversized for a smaller TPM bag (which is what I have) but could look great on a larger PM or GM bag. I'm 5'7" tall and found the strap to be an awkward in-between length for me personally. I'd either want it longer (to cross-body) or shorter for shoulder carry. As reference, the strap the TPM comes with is 44" and these are 41" including hooks so for me it's just a bit too short for cross body and slightly too long for shoulder carry. I am bookmarking the company though since I really hope they one day start making either shorter or longer straps!

I'm sure that height plays a huge role in how these will work for people. I don't mind that it hangs a little bit longer for shoulder carry, but that's personal preference. I agree they wouldn't work for a TPM. I have mine on a GM and I think it probably looks best on that size because they are so wide!

Good call - thanks for sharing that yours is a GM, that's helpful for perspective.

I think they do make a thin version of the strap which is what I'm keeping my eye on :)

If you like these, suggest looking at West Coast Weave on etsy. I have several custom-color straps from them in the 1.5 wide, and they will do custom lengths though their standard is 56" incl. the hardware. I find the TPM straps too short and order a replacement woven strap for each.

I wear my Evies almost all winter - they are great bags to wear with a parka because they sort of form around your side even if wearing something like a puffer.
I love my Evies so much! The adjustable strap makes it easy to accommodate bulkier jackets. I know some people worry that the bag is not secure for travel. I purchased an organizer that zips from a shop on Etsy and never worry about that anymore. Have a great trip!

I just looked at them and they are beautiful. I don't know about how the straps connect to bag though. Do you find them easy to work with? It doesn't look as easy as just clipping on to bag. Looks like you would have to have a screwdriver. I switch mine so often that would get tedious. Does she offer clips?

Could you please send the organizer link? Is it the size for the Evie III size?
Thank you

I'm going to Switzerland next week, and probably a down jacket or equivalent is required for the cold weather. Would you recommend carrying an Evie for the trip? TIA
Not sure exactly what you're asking but if it's about safety/weather, I wore my TPM inside my coat recently (for safety and because it was cold/wet) and it was perfect!

THANK YOU! This is awesome.

I'd love the name too!

Anyone have experience with the leather stretching out on a TPM size?

I just bought a H Piccolo pencil case to use to hold my small miscellany but the Piccolo does not really fit standing up on it's end as I'd planned and kinda sticks out. So now I'm thinking I'll put it lengthwise tucked across the bottom of the bag....

So here's the kicker: it just barely fits because the Piccolo length is basically exactly as wide as the TPM... I thought the Piccolo would be 1/2" shorter than the bag is wide and thus slip right into place, but I'm wrong. It takes a little "nudging" to get it in there - I have to tuck it in there manually. Once it's in, the Piccolo sorta "pokes" into the leather on the left/right sides of the Evie (on the sides under the clasps, not on the front/back panel).

Do you guys think this is a no-no and would stretch the Evie over time and make it look bad? Or would you not worry about it?
