Has anyone seen any bolide 31s in store? Thanks!
I haven’t seen any on the west coast, including B.C., not SO. I’ve only seen them for a few minutes on the Middle East H site. I remember the good ol’ days when H would have 10-12 Bo31 in various colors, available online. Lest we forget, they’d have many Evelyne, Victorias, and Jypsieres, too.:crybaby:

I purchased my gold bolide 31 on the Hermes site about four years ago. She has silver hard ware and is in the clemence leather. There used to be quite a variety of colours available in the bolide 31, now there are next to no bags of any kind on the site.

Yes I remember that too! Pre-pandemic one could buy lots of different models online, and the Bolide (and GPs, Victoria, Jypsiere, etc.) were staples that were always available. Even the "limited edition" bags were routinely sold on H.com (like the Baseball Bolide - that one was omnipresent for quite some time). My 1923 30 was a boutique purchase not too long after it came out - I asked my SA for particular specs after studying the differences between that model and the 31 online.

The "definition of luxury" is discussed here on TPF quite frequently in many different contexts. The Bolide is a bag that checks the boxes. IMO not being able to buy even what is possibly the most under the radar model sorta defies the idea.

Totally agree. Not to mention the most practical! Honestly, the Bolide was always my Hermès dream bag.

Wow love all these bolides and now I’m thinking it would be nice to have a 31 for work. How are these weight wise compared to a garden party 30? Is there a list of colors for the 31 and 25 that are currently available?

I have both models but Bd 35 & GP 36 and I would say my Bolides are actually lighter but it may depend on the respective leathers. My GP is VC not Neganda or Epsom so for a GP not the lightest.

The handles are comparable too, both rolled and hand-held only for GP (unless you put it over your forearm) whereas you have the strap for the Bolide.

The main two differences are the versatility and the prices. The the GP is a simple tote, and a shopper, even a 30. That's a pretty small shopper. It's a good price for a very useful bag.

A Bolide 31 is a proper hand bag, a classic take anywhere, do anything, weekend through weekdays. Very chic. The price is worth it IMO.
