The 1923 models are based on the original design (from the year 1923) - shorter handles, squarer shape. The 27cm size has handles that are out of proportion.

Can't wait to see what new iterations are trotted out for the century anniversary of the bag!

I stand corrected! Thank you! I had checked with my store director and so far no news on this yet (I was really hoping for a strapped version of web Bolide 1923)!

My new-to-me Bolide 31. I was afraid the bag would be too big but it turns out perfect. And it is definitely easier to use than Birkin

Would love to hear more about why you find this ”easier to use” than the Birkin. Is it the shoulder strap alone or something in the design? The “under the radar-ness“ of the Bolide? Love love love the Bolide, although would love to have a Birkin someday but interested in the different perspectives.

From Santa, a Bolide 25 in etoupe epsom. I am 5’4”. It’s big enough to fit a paperback book, my phone, key holder, an epipen and LV mini pochette containing tissues and my asthma inhaler. I have ordered a 105cm long strap from Shoulder Bag Straps on Etsy (recommended on this forum) so I can wear it cross body and a custom pale rose coloured insert from White Fox Bags (also recommended here - i have bought from here before, they are great if you need protection/organisation as opposed to structure). Hope this helps

The Bolide strap is a huge plus for me. I keep my Bolide unzipped hand carried, so it acts as a tote, just like a Birkin. It also has the security feature of the zipper when needed, unlike the Birkin.
The Bolide is under-the-radar, an unpopular concept to some. I see Birkins daily in my city—they’re easy to spot.
I love the look of the Birkin and wanted one until I realized I‘d been sucked in by the hype and its exclusivity. I’m a Bolide gal now.

Thank you! I got mine in London so I don’t know about the US. But as a reader of this thread it would look like the 25’s are coming through plenty of stores. I missed four of them on the U.K. web site in the week before Xmas. Before I got this one I was offered a number of 31’s but regrettably did not buy as too big for my needs. HTH
PS was recently inspired by this forum to extend the shoulder strap to cross body length using a Twilly. Not worn it out yet and would probably want to hold onto the bag handle for security reasons

Finally joining the club with my two recent purchases. Always a fan of the bolide. And my SA offered bolide 27 in Etoupe and 1923 bolide 25 in gold.

I want to point out something in each pictures with the comparisons. I saw some improvement with the bolide 25. I hope this would help someone decide if you are choosing between the two.


so happy I got these two bags. 27 and 25cm is very minimal. Size 25 come with a lock and the 27.



1.The straps are taller and wider on the size 27, therefore easier to put the bag on your elbow.
2.The opening of the zipper is wider on the size 25.



1.The zipper cloth is wider on the size 25, creating a more convenient way to use the zip. Somehow it makes it easier to zip open and close.
2. Zipper metal color match other hardware with size 25. The size 27 zipper have a logger gold

Thanks so much for this comparison. It is very helpful! I was wondering about the design in general, but particularly in these sizes 25/27, whether you experience any scratching of your SLGs from the bolide zipper? I'm interested in the bag, but a little concerned about the zipper's teeth!

Hi there, I usually have one hand holding the bag open while I put in my small leather good. It’s is my natural habit, not doing it purposely. I have not see a lot of scratches this way, but honestly the zipper teeth is sharp.

With the size 27 epsom leather the zipper is tighter，ever you unzipped the zipper, you still have to use your hand to open up the bag to put things in easier. The size 25 have a wider zipper opening, and the bags open up larger, so it’s easier to put in stuff.

25 definitely have better zipper, but 27 have wider and taller handles, you should pick the one that suit your personally need and liking.

Sharing the cross body strap I have just received for my new etoupe 1923 Bolide 25. From shoulderbagstraps on Etsy. The owner even changed the leather ends to etoupe for me. Don’t know how it will wear but it seems nice quality. Overall very pleased
