Ode To Swift

Hi all,

I recently acquired a B25 in swift leather. Some forums/videos say it’s a tough leather while others are saying you have to ‘baby’ the bag. I don’t expect to be throwing my Birkin around, but I am a busy mom of 2 and don’t want to have to focus on making sure my bag is ok all the time. How can I keep the structure and take care of it??

so gorgeous. i use an insert. i think dont get 7rp for the swift bag and dont lay it down storing or it can get the"zipper" marks as time goes by (which happens to mine in just a few mths).
i found that maitai insert is really good and its a fraction of the cost. I also avoid wearing it when it rains. i have two young kids too and i find it really inconvenient bringing this out with them. not because its swift, but because its b25, a bit small and partially as its swift i really dont want them to squeeze my bag.

Thank you, I was thinking to get one of those bag pillows to stuff it and I’ll store it standing up.

So I have a swift b25 in lime and somehow during my husbands 40th birthday, it got some pink marks on it, could be lipstick maybe? I was not wearing lipstick but with all of the hugging and everything maybe someone’s came off?

I don’t want to send her in to the spa because my last spa trip took almost 2 years.

Any ideas on how to safely try to clean? Maybe a product or a method? Really worried due to how light the color is and how supple swift is.

B25 swift GHW-yes!

I have always been a Kelly girl and I have been trying to get a K25 or MK in noir or gold with GHW for a couple of years with no success. I have been told it is harder and harder to get Kelly’s.

Today I once again requested a K25 or MK Sellier in box or other structured leather and was offered the B25 swift GHW.

I love swift! It is such a supple leather! I have been offered B25 in the past but always declined

I simply could not resist the sheen of swift! I was told that it is an exceptionally rare bag as they rarely produce B in Swift.

In the heat of the moment I forgot why Swift may not be the best choice for a Birkin- soft, smooth, supple leather that is even more likely to sag than Togo.

Would love to hear from any of you who may have experience with B’s in Swift leather.
What color? Some colors like rose Sakura seems mainly in swift. I have bolide 27 in swift and it is not a problem

Ohh sorry totally forgot color- noir. I have a mini lindy in swift rose sakura. I adore it as swift is the perfect leather to showcase rose sakura. Sagging is not really an issue with the Lindy as the shape lends itself to that anyway.

Swift is beautiful in Noir as well. Maybe the B25 is small enough that sagging won’t be a problem?

I absolutely love swift leather and have a b25 in swift (rose Sakura). It’s been fine so far but I also don’t mind a slouchy B. My favorite leathers for Noir are chèvre and swift so I would love it! Congrats!

Very exciting!!

I have had two B25 in swift, and one B30. I find that they definitely do slouch with age, and for me, I personally prefer structure versus slouch; however, if you are ok with this, it is a beautiful leather that really takes colour well and has a lovely sheen to it. I find the B25 in Noir swift to be particularly lovely and elegant. :flowers:

Me too.

My Aunt has 'Gulliver' and I have Swift. There is no discernible difference apart from the the name.

This is my little gulliver / swift family. The Birkin is swift and the Kelly’s all gulliver. Looking at them in the light, the grains are all the same. I closed my eyes and did a blind feely touch test and to my fingers, the gulliver bags were a touch softer. Barely discernible but I could feel the slight difference. Visually the leathers all look identical.

Love it!

OT, but slightly topic adjacent: I have a bone to pick with Hermès and their confusing nomenclature. Gulliver, Swift, Veau Jonathan— it is all the same in my view, though indicative of different eras, of course.

Perfect image to show Swift/Gulliver's beauty
