Nooo! I am so sorry to hear, @Pegase. Will you be exchanging? Why is H torturing us like this? LOL.

Does that mean I have to ask my awesome SA to go over each inch with a magnifying glass before he boxes it up? He's going to kick my butt! :wtf:

Over the years I have learn to always inspect the scarfs as thoroughly as I can in the shop, it’s not “vaguely remote” to find flaws on them. Some are tiny and barely noticeable, the moment you start wearing a scarf other “flaws” / signs of wear will occur, that’s just the way it is.

But others “flaws” are production irregularities. I used to say, it’s all handmade, best quality materials, small differences in production is normal due to the hand craftsmanship, etc... However, I am not willing to pay this amount of money for a production flaw, specially when they glorify themselves with titles in the likes of “worlds best craftsmanship”.

This won’t be the first scarf I am bringing back to the store...
It has taking me over a week to finally decide what to do. The SA’s at my local store are truly wonderful, they got this PdS 09 for me from another Boutique (the SM didn’t order any,(whaaat...?!)) I hate to go there and be the nagging costumer... but if I keep it, I will always have to think: H fooled you good, once again! LoL

I have absolutely no clue with CSGM and wanted PDS 5 to be my first one. I tried it, found the fabric so thin and was disappointed. I was unable to buy thinking about the "almost" 3 silk scarves I could buy with the money. And now, if there are flaws in a new one from the store, I really feel hesitant.
Should I give a try ?

Okay so I promised to report back after receiving the second Samourai and wow, I'm speechless.

I slowly unfold the shawl examining it and there it is, a red sticker next to a stain, which to me indicates that this is flagged. Yet somehow someone overlooked this and packed this into plastic packaging and sent it to warehouse as inventory.

Since I'm inspecting this shawl anyway, I then discover that one can see faint black lines along the hem. Someone didn't do a very good job of rolling the hems fully before sewing them as the black line is what I presume to be the outline. This perhaps doesn't show on other cw like 03, 05, 07 and 12 that have strong contrast colors but on a light background like 01, there it is.

I think I'm going to attempt to find another in store, (there weren't any so far, hence when this popped up online, I quickly ordered it) but I'm not going to be very hopeful. Right now, I'm quite turned off with the quality of H silks. :annoyed:
Unbelievable! So sorry weN :hugs:

Hopefully, "third time's the charm", if you do go for it again.

Just a thought ... maybe less designs per season? Quality vs. quantity.

The CSGMs are meant to be fine, I personally think that's part of the attraction (like a pashmina, I guess). They are cosy, nevertheless, and provide an amazing amount of insulation for their weight. Another sign of quality, to my mind anyway. What I would say in their defence is that the fibres do puff up slightly with use; they are not intended to ever be a big thick woolly scarf though!! It doesn't sound to me like you are convinced about purchasing one and at what they cost you need to really have your heart set on having one. I believe the older ones used to be thicker so maybe you could shop around for a vintage design? The flaw problem is unforgivable though and I would be majorly peeved if I was sold a dud. On that note I am away to check my cabane PdS!! [emoji848][emoji4]

Thank you, @Pegase. I will have to make sure I check mine thoroughly. I appreciate the advice and words of wisdom!

I'm happy to hear that your local SAs are understanding and already sourced you another 09. Keep us posted. You're right - there's nothing wrong with wanting the best since H is, essentially, top of the line, and costs are high as a result.

Sorry to hear this, Pegase. But I agree that handmade or not, you should receive a perfect CSGM, especially if other people's shawls do not have any issues. Good luck!

Same good wishes to @weN84!

:loveeyes::loveeyes::love::love::love: This is just WOWWWW!! Amazing samourais family. If you have to pick just 1 favorite, which would it be?

Thanks, Yodaling!

Argh....so tough. Not sure. I was going to say 10, then I thought, no ...it is 5...wait...I love the colors in 1..it ties beautifully.....oh wait....the coolness of the steely blues in 6.....the inner debate goes on and on....you get it! I guess the answer depends on my mood, what I am wearing and what bag I am carrying! I recently got a Zanzibar bag and three of the shawls go beautifully with it!

Thank you very much for your wise answer :-) Things are clearer for me now.

Stunning on you LB and what a lovely surprise from you DH [emoji3]
This cw so fresh on you! I'm sorry to hear of the issues with the shawl. It should not even happen in the very first place, much less twice. I hope you find a flawless piece very soon.

Love seeing you in a neutral cw for a change and you still shine no matter what. This piece is a keeper and so is that wonderful DH of yours!

Lovely on you despite the slight flaws. I wonder if H is facing production issues, this season has been unusually slow in delivery.

This looks just as how I imagine 05 would be the cw for you, PbP. VCA earring is the perfect touch.
Thank you Serva1 and ms piggy! Happy Spring shopping!

weN, I've just checked my new 01 and the same issue. The black line isn't fully sewed visible. So waiting for the next.

Here are pics of some of the specks in my CW06. Curious if other CW06rs have similar. I wondered if it might not be characteristic of the gris chine, but my Carré en Boucles in gris chine has none. Nor do any of my other natural/oatmeal b/g shawls. They are in the weave, but look like pen marks IRL.

Not sure I would have spotted these had I not gone looking, but now that I have...
