Scarves Ode to Parures de Samouraïs

View attachment 3993065 Everyone looks amazing in their lovely samurai scarves and shawls. My DH surprised me with 06 for Valentine’s Day. If I pair it with a royal blue top or dress, I think I can get away with the light greys in this shawl. I typically shy away from dove grey, but paired with a stronger color, it may work.

This is the hardest colorway to photograph that I have ever experienced... as the afternoon light waned all the purple came out like gangbusters...in daylight you get a balance of rich mauves, a sort of blueberry-slate blue, the green, and some blush pink all in a lovely melange...I'll take a few more photos tomorrow in full daylight...but I really love this scarf! I advise anyone curious to try it on, I can honestly say that this was the last scarf I would have considered before I tried it on, it is not my usual thing at all. But it is a mysteriously beautiful colour combination.

Is it really more purple than the website photos?

It does bounce the light incredibly nicely! The colours resonate off each other, and the whole tone is constantly changing...really interesting!

I felt the same way trying to photograph cw05. The magical thing just keeps changing colours!

OMG....I keep changing my mind about which second CW I "need" every time I see somebody's mod photos....
This is GORGEOUS!

And that is how I now find myself with 4....lol! I don’t think I will keep them all but I don’t have any that I want to return....first world problem for sure!

Oh, man. I'm sorry to read about this. I don't own any moussies nor any CSGMs (the Samourais would be my first). I'm disappointed that I feel compelled do my quality control on the one I receive. Ughh!

Wow, you checked every corner very carefully. I should do this with my CSGM. I also notice some fuzziness with the one that I received today before I tried it on. Hope that it is not a sign of pilling to come.

Nooo! Say no more, @chkpfbeliever! You chose my personal favorite CW (although now I'm borderline on like three others) and it looks fantastic on you. Wear it in good health (no pilling allowed for such an expensive scarf)!

Finally received Samourai CSGM in cw 01 today only to discover much to my chagrin that there was a pin size hole on the shawl that's brand new fresh from the warehouse. Also notice the fuzziness of the shawl already just from me trying it (last pic). Mod shots to come.

Here's hoping the replacement will be absolutely perfect, as they all should be. I collected cw 07 today and your post prompted me to go over the shawl with a fine tooth comb holding the shawl up to the light. I saw some noticeable stitches on the hems, also slight fuzziness around the hems. Like yours, my shawl didn't make it to the shop floor as it was reserved for me and was taken out of the plastic protective covering straight into an orange H box! At this price point the shawls should be pristine perfect.

Yes ....now, the photos were taken late afternoon/early evening, so the violet tones really popped out, but the last photo, and the one with me holding out the wrap are the most accurate...thank you!
