I seem to have had so much to catch up on I might as well have been trekking through the Tibetan Himalayas :p

What a timely thread, as I just happened to be speaking to a SA from H.com and she said that since this was such a popular scarf, to be on the lookout for a re-issue. While she didn't say that it WOULD be re-issued, she did mention that the big sellers are often re-issued...and something about the next 2-4 seasons...(shrug)

:graucho: watch this space then...

My understanding is that when Hermes does a reissue they never use the same CW again. That is what the craftsman who did the silks at the Metiers even told me. SO any reissues would be in different CWs.

Thanks for all the info TT :flowers:

Then I would take what you have been told to be the truth, as I did not have that information. :smile1: When I mentioned the Coupons to the SA from H.com she didn't mention this -- but that doesn't mean that what you were told isn't true, but that the SA just didn't know this.

Either way, I am hot on the pursuit for a LFASDV, and am afraid that I will come up empty handed and have to arm-wrestle everybody and their sister for the rare one in cw 08 that pops up on auction. :bagslap: hahahaha

Go for it! Good luck dagnypup :boxing:

Well - just FYI - until about a few weeks ago Japan H.com had a Femme in black/gold 90. I did all I could to get my hands on it. Well, it's not so easy. H.com won't send to anyone not in Japan and the boutiques apparently can't get their hands on them if they are H.com stock. So I've been told. Maybe I wasn't persistent enough.

Now, as of a few days, there are currently two GMs on their site for sale:Femme Black and Pink GM

I would love to get my hands on one (pref Black) if I knew how. I don't have friends in Japan to send it to otherwise I would have done it already. But thought I'd throw the challenge out there to this creative bunch in case someone knew how to finagle it and just to let you know they are still out there for some of us die-hards.

Good luck!

The magic of this design never ceases to win me over...again and again. After much looking around, I finally found my second (in my longed for Black/Gold colorway), but this time I went for a GM:

Sorry for the not so great photo (I'm hopeless)

:cloud9:What can I say? :cloud9: It's ...only thing that is a bit disappointing (but there is nothing that can be done about it), it the quality of the GM from that year. It really is a bit thinner and less soft than some of my others but it doesn't take away from the heart stopping beauty of this shawl...

Congratulations Julian!! You have finally found it!! I've been looking for this CW for myself for a long time too, such a beautiful shawl...

Thanks, MaggyH! It was absolutely, positively worth the wait - so fabulous (if I say so myself). What I love most, besides the breathtaking design, is that La Femme looks like a different scarf depending on how you fold it. Not so secret confession: if offered a black/gold or fuschia 90cm, I probably wouldn't say no :graucho:

Wow julian.f that is truly stunning, I have the similarly coloured silk and my mother is GM twins with you but won't let me near hers (I wonder why?) Huge congratulations

I've just returned from checking out the Hermes shop at Royal Exchange, London .My mission was to view c'ways Ex Libris en Kimonos , and to see which GM cashmeres they have ...hopefully Arbre de la Vie .
I was amazed to see a black/gold LFASDV GM ! They had two , and I took one so there's still one waiting if anyone wants it .

It isn't a c'way I'd wanted in cashmere [ I wanted red and I have a gorgeous non H black shawl] but of course it is beautiful and I knew the chance to buy it in store wouldn't come again.

I want something easy to wear and not too demanding ....those of you who have this black c'way ....are you still loving it ? Have you any modelling pictures please Julian f ... I knew you had this , and that sort of enabled the buying as you have great taste .

^^Frou frou, you're too kind! :flowers:

I actually wore it out today so before I went I tried to take some pics - they weren't really good because I still, somehow, need to reset the setting on my phone camera (ever since it's been factory reset, I don't remember and haven't really bothered with playing with the settings).

Pic isn't the best but the outfit is as follows: All black (LBS made up of black blazer, long pencil skirt - below knee, and black v-neck top) plus black knee height boots. Very basic, simple...and then jazzed up with what I call the "H Gypsy" look: two horn necklaces (Lena, Liao - you can just make them out in the picture), horn earrings (Lift) and La Femme - bias fold just thrown over the shoulder:

La Femme really stands out on it's own, that is for sure - when I wear it, I like to keep the outfit simple (with this CW, all black/brown/camel). No knots this time (it'd be way too much with the necklaces). It's a casual outfit but I have to say, I felt really dressed up (H accessories can really do that for you). Hope it helps :smile1:

Julian f This looks fantastic, and I can see the horn earrings look superb with this .Love your ideas, simple black , H horn and then the La Femme. Your colouring really lends itself to these colours too and I think you're beautifully groomed which makes it all look tres chic , rather than hippyesque !
I'm still thinking, will I keep it . I've followed all the posts about this fabled design , and gone from initially disliking it to loving it . I can see that if I do wear it , the next thing will have to be a horn piece.

How do you feel about jeans with it ? Or dark grey ?

Love your comment, Frou frou: "gone from initially disliking it to loving it.." I have the same thing except when it first came out, I never even noticed it. Which says a lot. And then, at the beginning of this year, I wondered how I could ever live without it and I went on a scavenger hunt for it. My scarf buying habits have changed, though, and this one ties a treat!

Jeans would be fabulous with it. I'm in the process of losing a bit of weight and old my jeans are a bit too tight on me (and I refuse to buy new ones!!!) so I can't wait to wear jeans with this. I think any jeans would be great but I'm a sucker for really dark denim. Paired with a blazer or even a short leather jacket, this shawl would just be lovely. I see hoop earrings, too. Jeans (either skinny or bootcut), jacket, heels, hoops, La Femme - what a great evening look (or even daytime, but for running around maybe the heels might have to go ;))...

I think it could possibly work with charcoal grey - I pulled a sweater and held the shawl against it. It was ok but I prefer black, chocolate or camel. That's just me (and my colouring).

I honestly think it's a strong design and it can go from more dressed up to totally casual (for example, jeans and a sweater - it would totally jazz the look up). I'm going through this accessory phase so I love big earrings (hoops/horn) with it but I've done it with studs as well - I find the shawl really versatile. But that is just me. I let it really be the signature piece, though, because it is a lot of colour and design. I think it can work with just so much! I even see it as the scarf keeping you warm with your winter coat (and a totally unrelated outfit beneath) and adding that special something.

Give it a whirl - let us know how you get on (model please ;))
