This design never ceases to impress me. I saw a GM in the orange CW on a gal walking and shopping in Chicago last week and as always it took my breathe away. I saw a woman in Berlin at the KaDeWe in this last year in the red CW over the holiday last year and again it was striking. It is always this design I remember seeing on others and each time as you say I fall in love all over again. And the story if the pattern is enchanting and captivates. In this way this design is so Hermes. Highly detailed. Artistic. Historic and most of all: MAGICAL.

La Femme GM Cashmere My first Cashmere , and not what I'd planned!

I wear lots of black [ don't we all] it's easy , chic and for me not good against my face . Neither are strong brights.
That's why I don't own a single black H scarf . I do have a hand worked heavily embroidered shawl from Kashmir in black with pinks and purples . That's another reason to go for a lighter shawl [ Arbre de la Vie in Rouge/ Ecru please !]

Nevertheless , the golden colours are good for me ,and the brights seem to blend just right . And Julian f has given me some great ideas!

I've not removed the label yet , I need to feel sure !

Call me partial but I really like it on you, it suits your colour and doesn't overwhelm you at all! I can understand keeping the tag on until you're sure, it's an an inexpensive piece and certainly a statement piece on its own but I really do like it lots.

Your very last photo and got me thinking that it can be used as a jacket...I've never worn it as such but have tried the look: it's just a matter of tying two corners (horizontally) together on each side and putting your arms through the created "sleeves" - it's fab for a sleeveless dress and looks similar to the look you've got in the last photo, which the design at the back (btw, also doable with a 90cm).

For me, this scarf doesn't really fall in the black category as it's only the border that is black - the majority is golden and ITA that the brights are embellishment.

I say keep but be sure. Anyone else? :)

froufrou - OMG, I vote for you to keep this - it is exquisite on you and such a rare GM too. I love the colors on you - the golds accentuate your hair coloring and the greens are marvelous. I could not carry the golds in the center - it clashes too much with my medium asian skin tones, but here is the way I love to wear mine and see if you like the way this ties on you.

I posted on the other thread but I am very conservative and I also think this looks perfect on you. I tend to gravitate toward neutrals and also wear black. My DH and others are always trying to get me to wear more color. I think this black/gold CW is exquisite and elegant and not at all too bright. Personally if I had to choose for you I would vote for this over the L'Arbre in the light CW because L'Arbre may wash you out, as it does me. You are fair as I am, and I think this La Femme lights you up, adds a touch of drama and is so interesting. The L'Arbre may disappear on you. Just my .02.

Julian f ,Lanit and Tanker Toad I really appreciate your honest appraisal here, and needless to say it's going to stay and may even go out tonight for a fun Italian with girlfriends .

Lanit, I love the way you tied the shawl . Is it tied at the back ? I'd love a lesson on that tie please !

And Tanker Toad you're right about the neutral washing me out.

I'm afraid I'm a bit Jekyll and Hyde as far as spending on large H items : one the hand elated and happy, on the other guilty .Why? It was bred into me I think!
The rationale kicks in : I worked hard for years . I've sold a couple of H scarves on Ebay. I 'm going to take back another one . So in fact ,now the GM is really cheap , I'm happy again!
Have a great weekend

:yahoo: so glad you've decided to keep it, I don't think you will regret it. It's just one of those gorgeous pieces that is functional, beautiful and meaningful. Congratulations Frou Frou

^I know! I saw it too and was absolutely gobsmacked to see it sold. Insane price...I actually laughed and thought NO ONE would buy it for that price. I was wrong...the one going for $499 was a deal in comparison. WOW.

Reactivating this wonderful shawl thread....still one of my favorite shawls! Bring out the La Femmes scarfies!
