2 years with a Rocabar, and I have been embarrassingly hard on it, including rain and snow, no pilling yet and even more miraculously the Barenia still looks great .
That's great, thanks my dear!!

I've worn mine every day as well, both at home and out, and have decided that a second one is a must. I have so many GMs, might as well have two of something I will wear on a near-constant basis.
HfromT, you have convinced me I need the dark gray, you little enabler!
Fortunately, my BF has warmed up to the poncho on my second go-round, I guess my little styling trick helped...
The only objection in my house was my little pup, who went running, head down and tail between his legs, when he saw me! Miraculously, he has succumbed to the poncho as well, as it has proven to be a good perch for a lap dog.
My store still haven't received any Rocabar but I just want to say that Poncho is so IN this season. Everywhere I looked, there were ponchos of all kinds!![]()

Really, xiangxiang? I must get out more!
Still, I am undecided.![]()
I agree, xiangxiang! It's interesting to see how different designers market the same concept though. Many opt to call them something like cashmere wraps, rather than ponchos. Which got me thinking that that's the way I'm going to "market" my H poncho to my DH when he sees it (he's away on business). If I say "look sweetie, do you like my new poncho?!", it won't be as well received as "look sweetie, do you like my new wrap?!" In my opinion, both species are quite similar (give or take a fringe or two), with one being perhaps more marketable than the other! And I'm finding that I wear this poncho more like a wrap, with one end tossed over my shoulder.
Agreed! Some of them are more like a wrap with fringe on both ends. Some have more of a shape to them therefore more like a poncho. Some have checks etc. My SO still hates the poncho but I wonder I could sell the "wrap" idea...
Or "blanket coat." I've heard that term, too. Poncho does sound a bit retro. I wore ponchos my gramma made for me back in the 70s.
The SM at my boutique told me that the ponchos have always sold well, which is comforting to know because I'm past the age of jumping on the trend bandwagon.^^^me too, Mindi B! In fact, having a few horrible 70s poncho flashbacks in my head right now!
If Hermes had listed these in the ready-to-wear section of their website, I hazard to guess that they would sell far more of them than they do when they are listed in the equestrian section, under "for the rider"! Really H?? Because I used to ride when I was younger, and none of us ever wore anything like this!![]()
Here's a close-up of the Alamo for you.
