You look Lovely in yours!

Thank you Lovely :flowers:

Great thread and congrats on your fantastic poncho, IF - eveyone's looking super in all the various colors! :woohoo:

I had the Prussian Blue Rocabar briefly last winter. It's wonderfully soft, the tassels enchanting! But it's more boho than I am, not very practical climate-wise and sadly barenia and orange are not great on me at all. But I found two archive pics that might be useful to those trying to decide if the blue is worth waiting for.

(Bolide is Brighton Blue, Texas 90 silk from my mom)

Happy hunting to you all!

I have to agree with the others who said it actually looks great on you BUT, I know you know your style through and through and this is the kind of thing that you have to feel 100% about. Perhaps, the newer Alamo?

I was in Sloane Street H today and it was incredibly quiet for a Saturday.
I had a fabulously helpful assistant whose taste I trusted and had her show me all the colours in both styles , or as many as they had.
We agreed the Rouge H is the best colour for me , they had the Alamo but no Rocabar ,so I am going to (try) buy it online in exchange for Paille.
She pointed out the difference in weight and texture between the 2 styles : the Rocabar is heavy and like the softest blanket whereas the Alamo is much finer and a little more drapey . Both have the same composition 10% Cashmere 90% Wool , but the Alamo gives a feel of pure cashmere IIMO
I think the 2 styles give quite different vibes
Rocabar more boho and Alamo more sophisticated . The Rouge H Alamo was stunning as Lilith has shown , anyone thinking of a second poncho may want to consider how Alamo can look more svelte and polished .
No shades of graduation day either !

That makes sense. I can see how the sleeker Alamo would suit you very well. I never doubted my Rocabar for a single second but I know exactly what you mean, there is a different vibe. I'm trying to be careful before Christmas but I'd also love to check out the Alamo as a second, although now I think there's no point in me having 2 such similar red ponchos.

You look so chic Pierina2! I love how the barenia trim and tassels pop against the blue and gray. It blends in more with the yellow. The Rocabar stripe detailing on the Blue really prevents it from looking like a graduation gown! I love the Prussian blue color of the Alamo, but without the stripes I think someone who called it a graduation gown earlier in the thread was right on the money! No offense to blue Alamo owners, just my opinion on me as I would wear with jeans :) too blue

Thank you, Pierina2! This is very helpful!

Thank you very much, gracecheng, rainneday and lovely64! Glad to be helpful. :smile1:

Pierina Me thinks Was that wise?
Letting it go , that is . I simply love the way you wear it .
Don't forget, should you be at all influenced by our enthusiasm, that the Alamo has Rouge H barenia trim ....

Thanks frou frou, but I have no regrets, it just wasn't me. Stripes, fringe, tassels - oh my! I'm just simpler than that. I do have a very old Max Mara black cape, alpaca with black fur collar and really enjoy that. The Alamo might work, I'll keep an eye out for it, but rouge H isn't quite my color either. Eventually the right one will come along! :D

pierina2, thank you SO much for posting these photos!! And may I say, I think this looks wonderful on you!! I completely understand if it can't be justified with your climate, but just know that you would have turned heads wearing this! I'm going to the store to try this on tomorrow, and fingers crossed, I hope it comes home with me.

Many thanks, HfromT, I appreciate your nice comments! We're in NY in the summer, FL for the winter so there's not much cooler weather. There are things in the closet already that I like better so (for once) I did the right thing. ;)

And thank you, papertiger! You're exactly right, I just never felt comfortable in it. You, on the other hand, look smashing in yours!!

Laughing out loud this morning at this note from a friend who is visiting Chicago this weekend:

"I have been in Chicago all of one hour & bought a natural butler Roulis & same poncho Lilith has..."

(hope you're fine with me posting it, my dear!)

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the pricing. In the US the CSGMs are $1175 and the ponchos are $1275. Are the ponchos cheaper in Europe or are the shawls more expensive than here? Thanks! :smile1:

The shawls are €895 and the ponchos are €890 here in euro zones. Not sure why it is the other way around in the US?

Dear lovely64! The Rocobar cw 04 looks IRL very much as posted by Livethelake and Monceau earlier. The overall impression is more blue than grey IMO even though the biggest part is a mixture of these two colours and the tassels at the bottom are mostly grey. It IS really lovely and would be perfect for you!! Just try it, you won't regret it!! :D

Thank you! I will try it!

My honest opinion is that you look great! I am your height and around 50 kg and I also have wider sholders, I Think. I will tell you my thoughts when it arrives next week. You can definitely carry it off, and with the right footwear it will look amazeballs on you!

Thank you sweetie! I am waiting for the Rocabar to try. I started another conversation about it and showed the photos to my SO again today and he still hates it! Lol!

My SA transferred in the Alamo in so I could compare it with the Rocabar. But when it came in they transferred in another Red Rocabar. So I had to wait again. Finally it came in today and I'm so glad I waited.

I finally got mine....😍😍😍 I went for the Alamo. I love the rouge h trim. I just thought it looked more "me" when I tried them both on.

I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm dressed and not in sweatpants.

Can't wait too see photos.

Well, dont mind him, lol! It looked good on you style wise and a different colour will look even better! I will post a pic and review when mine arrives. I am 164cm and around 50kg. I think we are the same height?
