Earlier this year, i lucked out on a blue gray sellier Kelly from a Japanese reseller. Later this year, a prune/raisin 32. Although I was hesitant re a 32, the great deal pushed me over and I wear her constantly. My most recent box Kelly is a BBK retourne. All brushed phw, and spa burnished to soft velvet gleam by @docride

32 box prune/plum) sellier;
28 possible blue abysse, sellier; and,
28 BBK retourne, all circa 2002

LOVE those three!
I'm keeping my eyes open for the perfect BBK retourne ( PHW for me please!). If retourne, I think I can carry the 32 off, and my fantastic SA is swearing that a swift 28 may someday appear ( didn't last year, but waiting is half the fun, isn't it?) You can never have too many black or box bags- and your collection proves that! :loveeyes:

@880 - its great to see you back this year and posting your finds. You are so informative and generous in your posts, i was wondering if you might indulge me and discuss how you are wearing your box kellys? Because of you , i have been stalking some box kellys on reseller sites but have yet to pull the trigger as i am a casual dresser and worry i cannot pull off this leather. Also, the initial scratches would probably me a heart attack but not once the leather reaches a nice patina. Hope you had a nice Christmas x

Thanks so much! Im casual (Dark jeans, cargo pants with box kelly sellier); crossbody with an evelyne strap. I do have my box bags weather treated by @docride; and, I don’t mind a few scratches. Of course authenticate and research condition before you buy. fingers crossed you find the perfect one! there are lots of action shots of casually worn box selliers

Go for the 32 sellier PHW if you want the Renee Z. look! IMO, it’s very chic casual precisely because it’s more beat up and less pristine. I’m about to pull the trigger on one myself as the prices are great. Docride can always help with patina Having said that, I love the 28 size in sellier but...

may I ask you something in terms of use of your box Kelly compared to an epsom one?
I heard a lot about epsom is very stiff and hard to use especially the opening and closing.
How is it with box? Is it the same or maybe a little softer and easier to open and close?
I would be thankful for your reply :flowers:
