I think a cotton or velvet ribbon underneath will help a lot. Back when I used twillies more, I did that to hold them. Long handles are always a bit of a problem. You can also use the ribbons by themselves when you are not in twilly mode, as they will stick better than silk. This is what I do with my Barenia B (I use the grosgrain ribbons that come with Net-a-Porter boxes!).Hello my fellow Box lovers
I'm thinking about buying some new (BdG Shadow) twillies for some brown bags. One of these bags happens to be my Box Plume.
Even though it's Chocolate, I really like this bag in the Summer and naturally my hands get hotter. This is such a cute bag, so well kept, I do not want to be the one to ruin it.
A) It's hard enough keeping twillies on my Swift Plume as the handles are a little longer than other TH bags.
B) It's hard enough keeping a twilly on my BBK (and SM) as the leather is slippy.
Box lovers: Those that use them, how do you keep your twilly/ies firmly in place. on your box bags???
Do you think a think a cotton ribbon under would help?

boy she ages like wine...
I will keep my eye out for you!I have been craving boxcalf like crazy lately. My BBB is stuck in spa quarantine so who knows when she’ll be home... I’ve been scouring the resale market for a boxcalf plume... I’m surprised there’s very little out there! (Unless I’m looking in the wrong places...)
Getting one new in boutique is probably a super long shot these days right?
Whats the word on current box, is it worth it?
I understand your box craving! I love boxcalf, too. Most of my box bags are preloved except for a HAC, a BBK 25 and a bearn wallet. Our local store hardly has box bags and it is not possible to order one as we do not have the quota for it. I was fortunate to receive the HAC a few years ago, which was a special order that arrived after more than 8 years. The most recent box bag I saw in the store was a black box Cinhetic with PHW. The box of 2020 is simply amazing with a high patina and fairly thick leather. It motivated me to pay a premium for a brand new D-stamp BBK 25 with GHW from the reseller market. The bag was from Japan. It is the most beautiful calf leather H bag that I have. That said, I love my vintage black box mini Kellys too. Nice to hear that story. Yes, this is a combo that has been hard to find. If the strap was available, it would be a no brainer!@Rockerchic, yes I think. I was in the same situation a few years ago, Kelly 28, bleu marine, box calf, recently spa-ed, no strap. I bought it and I love it. I don’t use strap so it didn’t really bother me. Just like you said, so many choices for the straps nowadays.
Well, if it's vintage, it likely didn't have a strap to start with. My box Kellys don't have straps and I don't mind - there are so many options to add a strap these daysLadies I saw a beautiful vintage box Kelly that is exactly the specs I want but is missing the strap. I know that it may take years if ever to get one from Hermes. I do love a canvas strap and I'm sure I can find a non Hermes that will match. Do you think I should grab it or wait? Would love your advice
Good point...I think it is from 98 or 99...I guess that would count as vintage? do you know when they started adding straps?Well, if it's vintage, it likely didn't have a strap to start with. My box Kellys don't have straps and I don't mind - there are so many options to add a strap these days![]()
