Ladies, my SA called and said she had a barenia silk in wallet for me. Thoughts? I worry about the scratching in my bags--keys and such.

I carry a Barenia Globetrotter zip/wallet every day....its well past the ugly duckling stage and it just has a fabulous patina...no scratches that are obvious at all....anything just wipes away with a finger rub. Its smooth and beautiful, deep rich looking color. Being carried all the time or in my bag, it obviously undergoes a lot of handling/rubbing. So, as with all Barenia - if you can live with the transition stage from new to patina....you will have a beautiful, strong piece forever!

Yes, that is a good point about the "transition" phase....kinda like the ugly ducking who is never really ugly, turning into a swan!! Thanks so much for thoughts....

I know this question has been asked before, but has anyone ever seen a Barenia bag strap with a foil stamp? The consensus seems to be that Barenia always has a blind stamp, but I ordered a replacement strap in Barenia from my boutique, and it has a foil stamp. The paper tag from H lists the strap as Barenia, the receipt lists Barenia, my SM says it is Barenia, and it looks like a perfect match to my Barenia Kelly.

Is this something new, or was it mislabeled? visually and textually, I cannot tell a difference between this replacement strap and the leather of my bag, but I am having a hard time getting past the stamp on the strap!

I'm no expert Monceau, but I've seen a foil stamp on something I would have sworn was barenia, and wondered the same thing....

After so many years of waiting and worshipping here from afar, I finally can come into the clubhouse! My long-awaited B30 with PHW- so exciting!

So how did you get it? I keep asking, it's been 4 years now.

My only advice: try the sniff test between the bag and the strap.

I had a hard time understanding my belt strap. Both sides were listed as Barenia on the receipt but I was doubtful with the darker brown, only by sniffing between the 2 sides and a process of elimination did I think it could be Chamonix. Months later I saw the same strap on h.com and was proved right. I have a Barenia cord that makes my flat chaine d'ancre a pendant, the 'fragrance' dances up my nose all day, unmistakable.

Either that or ask the craftsperson to ID
