My black 35 Barenia with brushed PHW. First time I've taken it on a trip. We had fun traveling together.

I love unfinished leathers and have been looking for a bag in VN or Barenia for awhile. I spotted a Bolide listed on eBay as "calf" that looked promising. Blind stamp, what look like oily "freckles" on the bottom - sort of like what happens to paper grocery bags if set on a table that's been recently treated with furniture polish. The price was reasonable but I put in a lowball offer because of a few ink marks on the inside (which are OK with me) and it was accepted! So look what arrived today:







Introducing Miss Bolide 37! In really lovely shape. I'm sure her hidden freckles will blend in with plenty of experience

Ladies, my SA called and said she had a barenia silk in wallet for me. Thoughts? I worry about the scratching in my bags--keys and such.

It will probably show marks if left in your bag, as barenia does, but that is such a special combo. Pretty hard to turn down!

I use a small Barenia silk'in wallet every day - yes, it gets scratched in the bag, but a quick thumb-rub and surreptitious sniff every time I use it has brought on the patina nicely. It's a nice little Barenia thrill to handle - very tactile!
