You can't really tell from the pics, but basically I wanted it to have the Barenia treatment (they first wash it with saddle soap and then they give it the lotions/oils whatever it is they use) so I expected it to come back darker and looking moisturized all over and softer. Also the 2 side pannels are a bit lighter in colour and more velvety since they don't get rubbed as the front and back do. Instead of all this it came back exactly as I left it. So after a few days of thought, I decided I would take it back and show it to the SM, who is a very nice and helpul guy. He agreed with me that it didn't look as if it had been treated at all. So he said he would send it back to Paris and wrote on the sheet of paper that it had to have the FULL Barenia treatment (I don't know why it didn't have it in the first place)

if I hadn't taken it back, I would have spent 210 Euros for nothing! Actually this is the thing that bugged me most, well, also the fact that I'll have to wait another 2 months I expect, before it comes back. But paying for something that hasn't been done seems to me a bit like a fraud, no?

Bizarre. I am sorry this happened but am glad you decided to stand your ground. From the picture, she looks amazing.

Please show us the "after" pics again.

Maybe we should say Happy Holidays to all of you Barenia lovers! Miss Chameleon Vert Olive GHW Barenia Birkin GHW and I join the club...

Duna, I've taken (hand delivered to Madison) my vert olive Barenia birkin in for cleaning/conditioning twice, and had the same "uh, it feels a tad softer but basically unchanged" reaction. I just assumed my bag wasn't all that dirty. The third time I sent it in for cleaning and to touch up the resin on the handles, I took it to the closest store to me and had them send it to San Francisco, stating that I'd been less than impressed with the previous two spas. It came back looking as brand new and clean as a 10yr old Barenia bag could possibly look. So amazed at the difference! You are right to ask for a redo on your bag, and I hope you are as impressed with the results as I was. My only minor complaint on my bag is that in the process of lightening the darkened handles, they left the leather a bit dried out, which made some existing fine cracks in the leather a bit worse.

I don't know why these things happen, I mean the craftsmen should be able to spa a bag, it's their job after all! They ruined my first Vache Naturelle Birkin that I had sent to the spa in Paris, a few years ago (You may remember) so they had to make me a brand new one for free!!!
