:confused1::confused1::confused1:I have been thinking of buying a matt 35 birkin barenia fauve mississippi alligator and appreciate if any members of this thread could tell me how it wears and darkens. Is it very fragile in the rain, scratches....etc. Is it same like all matt gators???? does it darken rapidly and does it age beautifully or just look old and worn heavily even almost right away.
I love the bag and have to decide fast but am not sure of the durability. Is it heavy like regular barenia used to be or same like all recent lighter weight crocs and gators?
Also, is this a hard birkin to find at the boutique if I pass now????

Thanks.

Here is my 3 yearold Barenia Birkin: she has just gone off to the spa in Paris, again! She came back last week, but I wasn't sattisfied with the result, so yesterday I showed her to my SM and he agreed with me that it hadn't been well spa'ed, so she's off again to Paris!!

OMG, she looks divine. Please tell what was disappointing...would love to understand/learn.

You can't really tell from the pics, but basically I wanted it to have the Barenia treatment (they first wash it with saddle soap and then they give it the lotions/oils whatever it is they use) so I expected it to come back darker and looking moisturized all over and softer. Also the 2 side pannels are a bit lighter in colour and more velvety since they don't get rubbed as the front and back do. Instead of all this it came back exactly as I left it. So after a few days of thought, I decided I would take it back and show it to the SM, who is a very nice and helpul guy. He agreed with me that it didn't look as if it had been treated at all. So he said he would send it back to Paris and wrote on the sheet of paper that it had to have the FULL Barenia treatment (I don't know why it didn't have it in the first place)

if I hadn't taken it back, I would have spent 210 Euros for nothing! Actually this is the thing that bugged me most, well, also the fact that I'll have to wait another 2 months I expect, before it comes back. But paying for something that hasn't been done seems to me a bit like a fraud, no?

Maybe we should say Happy Holidays to all of you Barenia lovers! Miss Chameleon Vert Olive GHW Barenia Birkin GHW and I join the club...
