Hey which sapphire product did you use on your BF? Was it sapphire renovateur ? I conditioned my BF K with this stuff and my bag looks all blotchy! I’m so upset

For a start, look in the reference section and read DocRide's advice on barenia.
I am not sure if the guide has been updated to include barenia Faubourg.
Saphir oiled leather cuir gras is what you need for classic barenia (not renovateur)
It does look alarmingly blotchy at first
You might be surprised how it looks in the morning.

Express interest. Not everyone loves the heritage leathers, and since Barenia is quite rare, you want your store to know you love it. As far as I can tell in my stores, they each have a small list of Barenia lovers who get the call when something comes in.
Does not guarantee anything of course, because it IS rare. Good luck!

From the lovely members of this forum I learned that smooth Barenia is heavier than e.g. Togo. Would anyone know whether BF and Smooth Barenia have about the same weight? Or how does BF compare to Togo? And apart from fauve and Ebene, are other colors current in production, e.g. black? TIA

As far as I have been updated by my Paris SA, Smooth Barenia in Black and Olive are not currently in production. I am not sure the weight comparison will be consistent as the thickness of each type of hide varies with each batch.

There are threads somewhere in this forum where weights of Birkins in different leathers were compared. I remember being surprised that Barenia was relatively close to Togo/Clemence.

For what it's worth, there is a new noir barenia (the new edition padded sellier) on a resellers site for an insane amount. As this bag is not out yet, it begs the questions of "where did they get it" vs. "is it a fake" Does give us any insight into the availability of noir barenia? I can hope, but........( no worries, my SA is on it! )

I, for one, am quite sad to hear this (although I doubt I'm high enough on anyone's list to be offered such a gem.....)
