Dear Barenia lovers support group, I bought a halzan 31 in Fauve Barenia (and orange inside) about a month ago. I am planing on using the bag on a quasi daily basis. I noticed that the area were the bag folds when I use is cross body is getting a little dry. I went to the Madison Avenue store and they told me to bring it in once a year for a check up. It's all fine and dandy but I am not persuaded. So I bought the Baume renovator on the website and it will be delivered tomorrow. Question: how to use it? Hands? a sponge? I know this may be the topic of another thread and I apologize but I am really new here and I get lost quite a bit. I promise I will post a picture of my "baby" which I named Tchoupi like the children's cartoon.
Thank you for your help.

Your Barenia bag shouldn't be dry this quickly. This is a leather that's literally soaked in oil, so it takes extreme conditions to dry it out in less than a year. Could it just be creasing where the leather folds, or is there actual cracking?

If you use the saddle Baume, use it VERY sparingly. The canister should last you forever. I use either my fingers or a clean white tshirt to apply. Just know that your bag will look terrible and blotchy for a day or so, depending on how much you use.

Joining the Club with B30 Fauborg Barenia. I just picked her up today from the boutique, my SA says she's pretty resistant to scratches but water could ruin the bag so be very careful. I would love any advice from any ladies who have this particular leather on how to care for her. I'm guessing she will darken over time? She smells incredible, when my SA opened the box I was sold. So I get to join the club. I am in Paris for work and will be taking some time off afterwards. Luckily my client's boyfriend encouraged her to go to Hermes for a belt. So it gave me an excuse to do some extra shopping. I really was looking for a Garden Party in a wild color and a Dogon (love these wallets). We went to George V by our hotel and I asked to see the Dogons. Some pretty great colors (I chose an orange poppy with rose candy) and then I thought I would ask about what was on my bucket list. A Barenia Halzan. I have an Etain one which I love but when I saw the photos of the barenia ones I just was in love. The only barenia item I own is the Bastia slg.

My SA said he would check and he said it may be one but he had to go look and confirm. He was gone for about 20 min and out came a box. I had asked for the mini since I didn't realize they had the regular size (which I did prefer). Inside a beautiful barenia full size Halzan.

My client boss could not believe I was buying that but like I told her I honestly expected him to say no.

Love love love the leather.

Hi Ladies, I'm now the proud owner of my new to me barenia Kelly, brushed PHW :) she's nearly 20 years old, but gorgeous! As I don't know when she was last conditioned and she is just slightly dry in places I'd really like to condition her. I'm struggling to get the Hermes saddle balm in the uk so I wondered if anyone had anything else to suggest please? I have some Saphir renovator but I'm not sure if that will be suitable or too oily. I can easily get Saphir products though if anyone has used any others that would be a massive help or anything else readily available in the uk?image.jpeg

I bought my from H.com UK site. also try calling customer services, they might be able to help. Like another member mentioned, be light-handed when applying - less is more. Have you considered bringing it in for a spa service?

Hi, I'd really like to use it for the summer before sending it off to spa. I called customer services Thursday and haven't had a reply as yet. I'm really hoping to take it to Paris next month with me so failing all else could pick some up at FSH hopefully, but I'd feel more comfortable using it knowing it has had a little conditioner first! Unfortunately the balm isn't on H.com at the moment, only the oil and that is way too scary!

I just bought the balm from the hermes.com website. If you go to see the oil page there are two options and the balm is the second. I gave my barenia halzan a good greese today and it soaked right in. Still a bit splotchy but the leather looks buttery again. Thank you all for the helpful feedback

Unfortunately it's not on the UK site. I'm glad yours came out well!

I used docride's barenia/unfinished leather spa kit for my vintage barenia B, it works wonders. I also got some conditioning wipes and use that whenever I feel the leather is too dry. I would recommend, easy to get on eBay too. I have never tried the saddle balm though.
