[Reveal

and Help Needed!] I have stalked this thread for a long long time and have been searching up and down for the mysterious barenia beauty. I have planned in my head a capsule collection of bags I want to buy and use for lifetime. And Barenia is top on my list, especially in a B30, And as a kelly girl, I dont need more than one birkin. It will be my One and Only ❤️.
Today, after failing to find my desired items at H shops in Paris. I wondered into an auction house/vintage shop that I always wanted to check out, originally searching for a vintage K, C or workhorse Bolide. While chatting with the helpful SA (who basically took the bolide away and told me not to get it as it looks wierd on me), I mentioned Barenia is my HG, his eyes widened and went in to the back, and took this beauty out. And I suddently lost interest in all other bags I was looking at.
To be honest, it's very beaten up and has a darker mark under the strap. However, the incredible smell and the smoothness and softness of the leather just won me over. Even though Barenia is common in other brands, but really nothing feels like Hermes Barenia to me. Call me crazy but truth is that I have seen countless birkins both samples and on nicely dressed ladies, at Paris Hermes these past few days, somehow Barenia just feels different, even the way the straps fall making it look like a different bag (or it could be me just prefer the more distressed look)
Understand how hard it is to lay hands on a new one or a like-new vintage from this thread. Despite all the scratches and marks, I closed my eyes and took it home with me!
As most of my friends wont understand why i dropped a close to brand-new retail togo B amount on a beaten up bag, can i seek your opinions if I made the right decision?
I'm guessing its still at its ugly duckling phase with all the marks not yet blended in, right?
Will you send it to Hermes SPA right away? I actually dont mind carrying it as it is for a while but just wondering whats the best for the bag. Is it better to have them fix the darker spot before letting the leather naturally patina-ed?
