I think I will get a better feel after I use the Barenia calvi for a while

Thank you ladies! The Birkin was unexpected.... I didn't even really think it was in production for bags! And it arrived for my 50th bday due to machinations from my DH and a very surprised sa who didn't believe the h luck either.

Of course serva1, when you got your 25 I was very very jealous, even bitter[emoji9][emoji3]

It doesn't have the heady barenia smell my dearly departed barenia toile had, but I am so looking forward to the patina to come!

For ladies afraid of barenia just want to show again my Evelyne. There is nothing like barenia patina in my opinion. It is a leather for a lifetime.

My DH got a mailman bag from 1930s - same beautiful look. You either love it or you don't, room for all types of leather lovers!

My bag got recently soaked in a snow storm and was no worse for the wear, I am obsessed with this leather now too!

This post is not for the faint of heart. Sharing pics of DH's natural barenia calvi he has been using daily for the past two years or so. It sits in his trousers and jeans. It has patina'ed to the point it is almost a blackened deep brown. Well it remains his favourite H piece to date. It's an O in square stamped with chèvre lining.

Shown here with the unused silk-in compact wallet and K in square stamped barenia toile Evelyne.

Nearly got a heart attack when seeing the first pic!! This is really amazing!!! :hbeat: Thank you soo much for sharing!! :flowers: Really reassuring for those who are just starting to use barenia...

Dear Serva, it was the pic of your mini Halzan (barenia/potiron) that got me the idea in the first place! Thank you soo very much for this!! :hugs:

Dreamed of a Halzan in barenia for nearly six months now. However, really thinking that there would be no chance for me to get this bag: 1) I was staying on Ban. 2) Our local store is never getting such special beauties... How wrong I was! Our boutique got, indeed, a Halzan in barenia/potiron. It was shown to another customer when I was standing at the next counter nearly fainting! The lady did not buy the bag and I got the chance to try her in regular size which was just perfect for me!! :love: My SA told me that it might take quite a Long time to sell this bag as not everybody understands about barenia... I may go water the money tree in the meantime. :giggle: The bag was sold in no time at all - but I still got so very, very lucky in the end. :loveeyes: Dreams do come true!! Will post pics later...

Well it is like saddle leather and so when you think about it, saddles have to be friendly to weather or there is no point. I think mistikat and others have posted about barenia and its properties better than I could. The local h craftsman once told me h treats barenia with water when you bring in for a spa
