Oh O MrsO!!! Absolutely delicious--I'm thinking of a Spanish Olive!! If she were mine, I would call her Olive Oil. Are you familiar with Popeye? I have never seen olive barenia in person--to dream!!

I am definitely familiar with Olive Oil! That would be a great name for her as just calling her Ms Olive might be confusing as we have a cat named Olive already

The bag is pretty special, I'm thrilled with it as my first Barenia and my first B35-thank you!

I just received my dream bag.....a K32 barenia fauve. She is pre-loved and already has some marks and patina so Im ready to jump in and use her without fear. But i don't really smell the incredible aroma that everyone raves about. Any idea why not? Because its not new?

Congrats, you have a piece of H history!!!Welcome to join us other barenia lovers.

Yes, it's not new. My barenia bags still have the leather scent, perhaps after spa?

Barenia from 1990s and from 2016 [emoji3]

I would like to caress my computer screen right now but that means I have to get up off the floor (I'd managed to get up after my time on the spring scarf thread, but went back down when I opened this post) LOL! The texture just leaps off the screen. Many congrats doloresmia!

I'm considering a Barenia B30. Although I love the color and texture of Barenia, I'm not sure if I can bear with the scratches and wear. I recently bought a Barenia calvi and it's already showing scratch and discoloration from a few times use.IMG_1481322654.968784.jpg IMG_1481322667.416817.jpg

I have a Mansur Gabriel vegetable tanned Cammello color bag, and I believe it's a similar type of leather to Hermes Barenia? I used it extensively for almost a year and the wear is pretty bad. There are multiple scratches and water stains and the corners are wearing out. I'm wondering if this is what I should expect from owning a Barenia natural B too?

The wear is not very obvious on photo but a lot more noticeable irl.

Since B would be a big purchase, I want to make sure it's for me. Advises please:)

Barenia does show wear, quite heavily, and the fauve/brown shade will darken over time. If you want your leather pristine, do not get it. And no, it's nothing like the Mansur Gavriel vegetable tanned leathers - those actually have a finish on them. Barenia is oil tanned with no top finish. So while it will repel water it will also mark and darken over time as a true saddle leather does. Contrary to what a lot of people have recently posted, there is no reason to be frequently putting any kind of baume or cleaner or product on it. It's just not necessary.

I would personally not get a Birkin in Barenia if you already can't bear with the thought of any scratches and wear. Especially on such a small item as a Calvi. The Birkin will show it x 1000. Just my two cents [emoji4]
