what exactly is likely to be on sale? is it all types of items or primarily home, RTW? are the lines equally long on both the invite day and the public day?

So I still can't figure out when I should show up on Tuesday..Since the private sale starts at 2pm, would I be facing an extremely long line if I show up at noon, say? I don't think I would wait there from 6am or anything like that, but if there is a reasonable time to show up where I would have a good shot at getting some nice things I might show up a couple hours early?
If you show up at noon you'll be well down the street. Pretty much just get there as early as your threshold of pain allows you.

Who knows. Sometimes they let us in earlier than 2 but by noon the line is pretty much down the block.
One year I stood next to a very classy gentleman who worked at LV (and previously had worked at Hermes). I thought he was in line for himself but several hours later a woman came up and thanked him for holding her place in line.
That happened to me one year. I was about 8th in line, until 5 or 6 women showed up and took the place of a young guy who had been sitting in a chair in front of me. They had been at a restaurant having breakfast and coffee. Needless to say, I didn't get in with the first group after that.
My clone will only wait in line. We'll switch once the doors open. At that point, my clone gets sent to run other errands.
