The wait varies a lot--people start showing up at the crack of dawn most days in the hope of being among the first through the doors. I've waited minutes and I've waited hours! Each sale-goer must assess her/his own capacity for pain. . . . :p

Thank you for the info.
Well... I guess I will think about it.. The "pain" of waiting I'm pretty numb to it. I once got a warehouse sale for a cosmetic company I had stay out in cold got chase away by the police 2X almost had a electricity pole fall on top of me and all these drag on for 12~14 hours prior to the sale.. So it's hard to shock me.

So what if u r not on the private sale 17th but still want to go? How long will the wait be??

This venue can be strict with the VIP guest list depending on the brand.

Sometimes they let ppl not on the VIP list to enter when all the VIP's are done - but don't quote me on this, this has happened for me before but I've also been turned away before, depending on the brand and how long that line was that day.

On the public day - the 18th - the line for big name sales start at the crack of dawn at least.

I'm not a VIP but on the 18th will be there before dawn - usually the 2nd public day there is a short wait or no wait at all. Everyone who really wants to go I think usually goes the first day hopping to pick for the cream of the crop.

You cannot get in on the 17th without an invitation. And my personal experience with the first official everyone can get in day, the lines are mind numbingly long. I once got there at 5 in the morning and there were already a dozen or so people in line already. Two of the girls were in sleeping bags at the door.

I'm told the Hermes sale is the second busiest sale with the longest lines at Soiffer Haskin. The number one busiest sale is Ralph Lauren.

I think the Roger Vivier sale would be #3.

OK so let's all just stay up and party on the sidewalk until dawn. By the time I leave the sale I always end up looking like I haven't slept anyway!
