Yep, your SA puts you on the list and you receive an invitation in the mail. Invite states it can only admit one and its nontransferable. I was going to take my mom but I guess I'll shop for her instead.

Awesome! Now I hate to be overly inquisitive - but two of my most favorite things in the world are Hermes and sales - and they rarely collide. Haha.

So how do you know if you're on the list?! And is it gauche to ask to be out on the list?!

Andddd if I am on the list anddddd people are indeed lining up pre-dawn, I'm glad to bring provisions and be there! My apt is less than 10 min away!!!

You can go on Tuesday if you have an invitation. Your name is on the invite and supposedly it's non transferable.

It's my understanding that the people for the Tuesday pre-sale are determined already. My SA told me in July that she put me on the list and I received an invite this past Wednesday. No harm in asking your SA if you can still be added.

No checks. Usually just credit card, but in past sales, they've allowed cash payments. I saw a few people paying by cash on the 1st day of the BH sale, but by the last day, they stopped accepting it. Happy hunting!

I know others who've also been dropped. I'm not a VIP, so I don't expect an invite, but I tried asking anyway.

I'll wait to hear reports from the private sale before I decide to go. I hope they at least have some merchandise in NY this time. The people who got to attend the BH sale were so lucky!

The wait varies a lot--people start showing up at the crack of dawn most days in the hope of being among the first through the doors. I've waited minutes and I've waited hours! Each sale-goer must assess her/his own capacity for pain. . . .
