^ Why don't you just go check out the sale? I saw lots of those pom poms yesterday and I bet they'll have plenty for the rest of the week.
Hi Baglady1973,
I know the woman in Khaki and some of the other women that you refer to in your post above. She is a well known customer at H boutique and she is friendly with H corporate; a respected tpfer whom other tpfers go to for questions on scarves; she is also a collector; and I know that the list that you refer to is basically for the sole benefit of other clients and friends (whom I also know) who are not fortunate enough to make it into the private sale. I am aware from both sides, namely those who give her their "wish lists" and her that there is no surcharge for her efforts on their behalf.
To be clear, I was not one of the ladies (these ladies are also clients and boutique shoppers) helping her because I had my own smaller list of items to search for others here over in leather bags. Had I been fortunate enough to find the items on the lists of my friends - namely a Paris bombay 40 and a good news bag and some recent scarves - I too would have picked these items up and sent them off without making any money on the transaction. (And since there was a limit per person on bags, I would have made arrangements with one or more other friends to help me fulfill their wishes.
I do not mean to butt into a situation that does not directly concern me and
I am truly sorry that you were not able to get the GM c/s you wanted. I do understand the aggravation of missing a fabulous piece and I wish you the best of luck next sale.
Mods, please feel free to delete this post and/or PM me if anything is improper. Apologies for being OT
P.S. The women that I refer to in my post are not affiliated with the woman who owns the consignment store down the block that you also mention. (I have no idea who the consignment shop woman is)
Full disclosure: i am not affiliated with any of the people that I refer to in my post other than through love of Hermes.

Excuse me while I find a building to fling myself off of. If you guys could see the crappy excuse for a sale they have down here. Seriously. You couldn't pay me to haul some of it away. And then there's this. So not only do you get to live in an amazing city, you get the goddess of all sales dumped in your laps.
I hate you all and am going to stuff my head in a dryer.
Thank you for those great pictures and information. I was about to pass the sale, I am working on the next street, went to see the long line several times today, couldn't decide to stay in or go in tomorrow. now, i think i will go tomorrow....
anyone know how much are the twillys? thanks
Capulet
you made the most amazing choices, just what I would have liked for myself. Enjoy wearing them, it is not often such wonderful H value comes to us. I had purchased the F.I. pochette on H.com and with postage it almost came to $200, so lucky you. I do not know how you put back the Mousseline.
I was a bit disappointed to see so many repeat scarves from September. The mayhem around the enamels wore me out quickly and the shoe selection did not interest me, so I checked out with just a blue Chevaux de France scarf and some of those really cute silky pompom page markers in a variety of sizes and colors. As I was photographing the pompoms, it occurred to me that my arrangement was slightly phallic, so I hope this doesn't make anyone uncomfortable. Please excuse my pathetic homemade bolduc page marker.
Not pictured: black silky pompom that is already hard at work in my Ulysse MM.
Twillies are $78. Pochettes too. (I know since I got one of each.)
I am happy to see that I was not the only person totally annoyed by the HOARDING that was going on.
I was in line at 10 am got in at 11 am and there was a troop of women who were circling the event like hawks and then they would convene in the center of the sale by shoes and trade around. One of them had a huge list of scarves and items that she was looking for for clients - she was a reseller (hello if anyone from H corporate is reading this) = and the rest of the troop members kept looking to her for approval for the items that they were thinking of buying. It was a bunch of middle aged looking housewives in khaki pants and "comfortable shoes" and not the usual Hermes looking customer.
Whatever, its not the end of the world, but I know how long it took me to get the invite to the 10am part of the sale that I thought was exclusive and to see this sort of activity at a sale - especially a reseller there (there were more than one - the woman who owns the consignment store down the block was there too and she is another HOARDER) its just annoying.
I got what I wanted though - sans a shawl. At somepoint I will just go to the store and buy the one that i really want to stop aggravating myself with this sale.
sadly, i am overbudget and out of funds. should i go just to look or would that make me feel worse? blah, maybe next, i just need to remember and plan better. i called up some friends to see if they wanted me to do shopping for them but the notice was too short for them![]()
but i am closely checking out the pics and seeing what people come up so i know what to be on the look out for in the fall!
Four Tails, I think your bolduc pompom is super cute, dont apologise for it!
I am a little disappointed I dont see a phallic reference in your photo though!![]()
silky pompoms another reason i am annoyed at myself for missing this sale. but maybe one will show up in my size tpm, pm that never made it out to the sale or that got returned in stores. or even one at the sale this fall.
Four Tails - the cadenas were in a tray at the table between the enamels and the leather handbags. The tray also had scarf rings. It took a lot of work to wedge myself in there. Sometimes I truly suffer for my fantastic hauls..
gga, is there room in your dryer for my head too? "Crappy excuse for a sale"? I'm thinking we're both from the same city!
I am determined to go to New York or Paris next year for a "real" sale. It should definitely be included in that book - One Thousand Things to Do Before you Die!
