I want to thank everyone for their kind words about the shopping spree that melted my credit card.

Enjoy the rest of the sale and please keep the reports coming. I'm on my business trip and even though this trip is a big deal for my career, I would rather be standing on line for the sale with all of you.

I love seeing all of your fabulous purchases!

Hi. Wow, congrats to all, it sounds like a great sale. I haven't made it to one in a couple of years and am looking forward to going tomorrow. Does anyone know what time it opens? I am thinking of going early before work. Thanks!

Thank you for those great pictures and information. I was about to pass the sale, I am working on the next street, went to see the long line several times today, couldn't decide to stay in or go in tomorrow. now, i think i will go tomorrow....

anyone know how much are the twillys? thanks

Many many thanks to all the fab ladies for all your detailed reports, much appreciated!

And SUPER Congrats on your buys - SOOOO very lucky!!

I wanted to faint when I saw the box & toile plume in the photos - can't believe that wasn't snapped up!!

And I am soooo sad I wasn't there to snap up the Drag alligator :crybaby:.
This has been on my wishlist for years - never seem to see a croc or allicator one in the boutiques.

Hi 880, do you remember how much the drag alligator went for? I'll probably feel worse if I find out it went for a terrific price. Thank you again for your report, and enjoy your wonderful haul!:flowers:

About USD10K pre-tax. Not exactly small change. I was tempted but figured I could put the 10K towards something else.

Roxane, many many thanks for replying. :flowers:

Nope, not small change but the drag croc in BLACK has always been in my wishlist so I would have easily talked myself into buying such a "great bargain" for the drag alligator in black...AND with PH. Aaargh.

Thanks again!

restricter, what a great haul! congrats on the beautiful purchases and I get to enjoy it without leaving my chair! (or waiting in line!)

robee, should we meet up and go Paris this June? :graucho:

Was I ever so happy when a kind friend from NY elected to go to the sale on my behalf with my small wish list. I had long thought that snobbery was not what one would find in NY but apparantly not. Being elderly myself, and hopeful that some day I may attend in person, I will be very mindful of BagLady's dress requirement and the assumptions she so freely made. Very sad.

Congrats to everyone on your sale goodies!!! :yahoo:

And cheers to those who were sweet enough to take the time to shop for those who couldn't make it.

If I was lucky enough to ever go to the NY sale I would just enjoy the excitement and fun! You cannot imagine how much I would have loved to be there and gotten one of those Garden Parties. How awesome!

Capulet
you made the most amazing choices, just what I would have liked for myself. Enjoy wearing them, it is not often such wonderful H value comes to us. I had purchased the F.I. pochette on H.com and with postage it almost came to $200, so lucky you. I do not know how you put back the Mousseline.

I went to the sale bright and early this morning with Hermes NuttyNut! We got there around seven, and there were already about 15 people in line. We were among the first in at nine. Most of you know I'm a scarf girl. Bags, enamels, and SLGs were mobbed, so except for a peek at the enamels I didn't brave that part of the sale at all. I had enough to keep me entertained elsewhere. Here's what I got:

Fantaisies Indiennes pochette, Chasse en Inde 70cm cotton charm scarf, lotus twilly, and elephant key chain. I was in a purple and fuchsia mood!

I wanted more, but I tried to stay within my budget. There were a ton of cotton Lalbhai GMs in various colors and I was sorely tempted to buy one, but I wasn't really sure if I'd get much use out of it. Also a couple of Legende Moghole GM mousses in cassis. I put back a full-size black/hot pink Fantaisies Indiennes, which was hard, but I like the design better on a smaller scale. Overall the selection of twills wasn't that impressive (most were at the last sale), but there were a lot of nice cottons and mousselines and vintage silks, and even more cashmeres than the zero I was expecting, although those are probably long gone by now.

So I'm exhausted, but it was worth the trip! And it's always great to go shopping with HNN.

I definitely don't like stirring up any discord, but I agree that judging by looks seems unfair. If someone is at an Hermes sale, it means that somewhere along the line they cultivated a taste for Hermes, which is not an inexpensive hobby. Whatever they're wearing on a cold, windy, and potentially physically taxing day means nothing to me.

Restricter - I will be SO mad if I missed the padlocks! Those are great, congratulations! (Actually, your entire haul was great.) I don't think I saw padlocks, but they were probably in the same tray where the woman I described in my last post was working.

I was a bit disappointed to see so many repeat scarves from September. The mayhem around the enamels wore me out quickly and the shoe selection did not interest me, so I checked out with just a blue Chevaux de France scarf and some of those really cute silky pompom page markers in a variety of sizes and colors. As I was photographing the pompoms, it occurred to me that my arrangement was slightly phallic, so I hope this doesn't make anyone uncomfortable. Please excuse my pathetic homemade bolduc page marker.

Not pictured: black silky pompom that is already hard at work in my Ulysse MM.

Four Tails - the cadenas were in a tray at the table between the enamels and the leather handbags. The tray also had scarf rings. It took a lot of work to wedge myself in there. Sometimes I truly suffer for my fantastic hauls. :-).

I hope you find some today. If I weren't at my conference I would be right there with you digging for buried treasure at the sale.

On one final note, while I don't agree with everything said about hoarders or ebayers, I'm still recovering from the shenanigans that happened at the YSL sale last year. You can find the thread in the Deals & Steals section. Fortunately most of the shoppers yesterday seemed to be in it for themselves.
