I'm not too familiar with the Stewardess bag--I looked online and it looks bigger than my bag.

It's actually similar in width and height as the Urbane 2--but twice as deep.

It's approximately 10.5" W x 8" H x 4" D.

It's a great size, not to big or small...adjustable cross body strap. Love it! :p

It's chic and sexy and awesome.

But....unfortunately it's too small for me and all the crap I carry around with me everyday lol. :p

Agree!

I can't justify paying anything more than $525 (haha, since I bought the whipstitch bag I've had to raise my Coach price ceiling!) for Coach or that will hold up better price-wise on the resale market. :p

If I'm shelling out anything more, I'd rather put in a bit more and get something timeless.

Me too about wanting my $1k + bags to be timeless.:smile1:

Even the Vevers Rhyder 33 bag I bought could easily have been swapped for a more timeless Balenciaga Velo. I do not have a Velo although I have many balenciaga bags.

But...I wanted a bag from Vever's first Coach collection so I am ok with the fact that it is basically Coach's take on the Balenciaga Velo. Coach still is doing their own thing re more studs and a cool color/texture with the gunmetal. And at $650 I can justify the purchase.

But...if this particular bag had been closer to $1k, I would never have considered it. I would have bought the Velo instead without a moment's hesitation.

Coach's value proposition to me has always been that I can get more bags for my bag budget. I do not see Coach as a timeless value brand.

I agree with you about the 33 being a take on the Velo--totally! The 32/ Rhyder satchel is a take on the City IMO. All that said, I like both bags, so if I can find one that suits me I will make it mine! LOL

I have been trying to diversify my collection so maybe a Bal will find its way to my closet! ;)

I agree with you about Coach's value proposition--more 4 less. I am not 100% sure that Coach's executives understand their own brand and it's position in consumer's minds.

Well, I bet there are tons of us who are thinking the same way. I've got Bal city, velo, pompon in my collection but I'm pretty much done with the brand (never say never but I've got enough, I think) so...I'm all for the Coach elevated Rhyder 33 because my fave Bal is the velo size/shape. I'm anxious to see these irl and I hope I choose one from first generation Rhyder because no doubt, Coach will increase msrp with 2nd generation but I'm with you, the closer this bag inches towards $1k, I won't...

I want that damn feather fob too! LOL :roflmfao:

I am sure that Coach's executives do NOT understand their own brand and it's position in consumer's minds.

It's great to have sexy, young, disposable styles (Poppy line) priced under $400. They killed that line.

It's great to bring back the classics that Coach has always been known for, simple timeless styling and thick leathers (legacy and classics line). They killed those lines.

It's great to bring out clean timeless new lines lines and styles by a unique designer with his own unique look and make them at a value price points (reed Krakoff's styles for Coach like the Kristin) They killed those styles.

It's great that Coach has a new designer (Vevers) to take Coach in a new direction. But if that new direction veers too much from the old direction Coach will lose a lot of its old customers. (I think this is what Coach wants on some level)

And if the new direction tries too hard to position Coach as a premium designer brand like Balenciaga, Coach will lose sales to the premium brands, as many like me would rather spend $1,300 or so for a balenciaga on sale (and there are always ways to get 10-25% off on a premier bag) than $1,100 for a Coach bag not on sale.

Just my opinion....

I hear you! :p

I wish them well, though, because I do love some of the designs they put out!!

I can't wait to see the Rhyder 33 in person! I am considering the one you ordered--the gunmetal version. It looks gorgeous! I just hope I have purse $$ left by the time it comes out in stores! LOL:graucho:
