Sale, yes; but they don't do coupon codes like the ones posted on RetailMeNot etc. Sales and discount codes of this type are different IMHO. Apologies if my original statement was unclear.

How YOU doin', fellow Chicagoan? Ready for Fashion Outlets of Chicago? :graucho:

Tis true! re discount codes.

Yes I'm ready. Half the distance as Aurora for me. Working like a dog the next 2 weeks incl weekends so I can't go opening weekend. But I'll be across the street for Comic-Con the wkend after that. I can't find on their website if there's a parking fee. All the lots around there have a fee b/c of concerts & conventions.

I've been helping with one of the store openings there- yes there will be a parking fee for the garage attached to the mall- I haven't gotten any concrete info but rumors were under 2 hours free and increased based on hours parked; have also heard rumors of it starting at $13/day.

After having seen it this last week, I have NO idea how it will be ready to have a soft open on Wednesday night. They will have to work around the clock lol

Well darn. That might wipe out the benefit of the closer location than Aurora.

After reading this, I'm very glad I bought as many new Legacy bags as I did at the boutique and online. I love the return to classic Coach styling and now these will have to last me a long time (which they will since they are classic and leather). I don't travel to the outlets, have two boutiques I visit, and I won't be paying above $500 for a bag. And honestly, I can't see how the boutiques in the two malls near me would even attract customers at that price point!

I don't know if it's relevant, but I was at Leesburg Outlet here in NoVA the other day and they had a bunch of fall-colored Courtenays, Haleys and Phoebes on two of the shelves up front by the doors. When I asked how much for a Black Haley (I couldn't believe my luck, I just KNEW it would be 50% off) I was told that none of those bags were on sale, they were retail bags at full retail price. The SA went on to say that they were trying something new, carrying a few popular retails bags at FP, to see if customers would buy a FP bag from the outlet. My look of confused disgust must have answered for me, but I still told her that I didn't think anyone would go to an outlet to buy a FP bag. I definitely wouldn't.

So it looks like some change is going on! Between those FP bags and the new Park collection, half the store was regular price. NO ONE was buying them, either.

I disagree that no one would buy FP at the outlet. Many of us live nowhere near a FP (and many live nowhere near an outlet) and would welcome more chances to purchase in person.

That may be true in your area, but here in the D.C. Metro we have at least four FP stores close by and two major outlets. The majority of the customers that go to our outlets want deals and steals - if they wanted full price they'd go to the mall. Your mileage may vary, of course.

I definitely wouldn't pay FP for a manhandled bag at the outlet when I can get it 25% off at Coach.com or a boutique. Heck even FP from the boutique or online is better than FP and heavily manhandled from the outlet.

So... they are piloting this in the wrong area!

yup. not good planning on their part. it would make sense of there wasn't FP stores near by, but as mossgirl mentioned, i don't go to the leesburg outlet for FP bags. defeats the point.

I'm loving the new direction Coach is taking their factory bags. I never cared much for the average mff siggy bag. I still see a clear distinction between the FP and mff leather bags so there's no room for confusion imo.
I've read on this forum, many times, complaints about busloads of tourists buying armloads of mff siggy, maybe now they'll buy armloads of mff leather and FP bags.

I wonder if Coach will still hand out coupons at the outlet if they are now selling current FP bags there? Maybe the coupons will just have exclusions like the PCE cards do. I seem to be getting more PCE cards than ever too, and haven't used any lately.
