Not Sure How I Feel About New Business Model...

How doesn't it add anything to the conversation? For all we know you could of made this up or gotten it from an unreliable source. This "new business model" could be completely false.

Why shoot the messenger? Because this messenger won't reveal who sent the message. It was an honest question, but now I really want to know why the source cannot be revealed?

Several posters have posted that they were told about the same or similar changes that I posted about and again, the names of the people who shared this information are irrelevent imo.

+1. People who talk about the rumors of their company never want to be mentioned. They can lose their jobs, and since these changes have been mentioned several times, it's showing some consistency in the rumors.

Though, I understand the appeal of being more "exclusive" and "higher end" and whatnot, but what's wrong with being common? If everyone is carrying their bags, then they're clearly selling. And more often than not, a lot of people will buy the newer style/patter/color since it's obtainable.

:shrugs: If there's anything they should do, it's bring back the cute keyfobs! Need to dress up the bags somehow!

I agree with keeping the lines available longer. I remember seeing a gorgeous large sophia in the store once and when I went back later to buy it, it was long gone.

I couldn't agree with this more! I wish they'd keep so many designs around longer, or that they would bring some styles back in new colors... Large Sophia, the entire once-removed legacy collection (I'm talking Gigis, legacy shoulder bags, Mandys, Brigits, Francines, etc etc), Carolines, carries (I'm already bracing for these to disappear). I know it's never going to happen, but I wish coach would embrace their more iconic bags in a less transient way. Not that I don't love novelty; my collection shows I obviously do. But still.

I'm just going to assume this is all poppycock until an actual reliable source is named, or something is posted directly from Coach.

The changes mentioned in the first post would be nothing but detrimental to the company. I just really can't see Coach doing those things to that extent, they would be intentionally shooting themselves in the foot.

And remember, sources are like opinions... and opinions are like #%€€#S.

9 years ago my company went through a merger. Ever since then, periodically people will say "they're going to move all the finance people to NYC". This had been said many times. And it's never happened.

I do think Coach is making some changes, but i hope not all of these ones come true. I can't imagine HAVING to pay $1k+ for a nice Coach bag at FP  On a side note, called Coach today to get a replacement long strap (been calling every week for hoping they will have something that will work) and the Rep that i talked to today said they were in the process of phasing out replacement straps... Meaning you get the one with your bag, but if anything happens to that one then you're SOL :lecture:

Ditto.

After looking at the fall preview thread it does seem like Coach is moving towards "higher-end" bags. A lot of those bag look like pinnacle bags and I'm sure they're going to come with a pinnacle price tag.

IKR! Gorgeous bags but I'm afraid to see the prices!

I won't be surprised if they eliminate some of the perks that we've been accustomed to receiving but I will miss them for sure.

This!!! I still stalk francines and Peyton bleecker st limited edition bags to this day. And gigis and sohos.

The return policy should be interesting....
I have one FP store that basically gives you the third degree when you return a bag - even with tags on!! They ask you in a "Snotty" Voice - "Did you use this?" No - then they practically rip out the lining and stick their face inside the bag to inspect it! The other store just returns a bag without questions asked!!!
Yes, I do buy and I do return but I don't think a person gets a true feel of a bag without taking it home and trying it with all their things plus color matching with their wardrobe.
I think Coach may be changing their stores due to the price of leather becoming more expensive.

Lynne :D
