Not Sure How I Feel About New Business Model...

I think the difference with mk outlets too is..they don't give refunds...or at least the ones around here don't..store credit only..so it's no way near as flexible as Coach return policy. So that might not hinder them so much imo.

Yes, there are outlets overseas. I think we have 2 in Australia, and 6-7 FP stores. Coach is also carried at limited David Jones locations. Prices are 2-3x US pricing (and our dollar is stronger Si double ouch.). Outlet prices are ridiculous. None of this 50-65% off - they'll advertise 30% off, then redline the MSRP at that rate, no further discount. However, FP always had a nice sale section. Nice is relative - if I get a sake bag at FP it MIGHT come down to close to US FP!

I do like the look of the sale sections at FP tho. Still looks classy.
Thank you for the info. Yikes! I would love to visit Australia, but I wouldn't want to pay those prices...I feel for ya!:smile1: I think a sale section would still look classy, too. It will be interesting to see if this comes to pass.

And what are these "reliable sources"? Coach SAs have been very wrong about things here and there, and I definitely wouldn't count them reliable when it comes to corporate matters like this. They're usually on the bottom of the chain when it comes to finding out this kind of stuff.

Also, I don't see anyone getting "upset". You post things like this, there's bound to be debate, and people expressing their opinions.

I totally agree with u about sa information but debates usually occur between parties with differing points of view. Not someone dismissing the views of the other. And, as u state, people will express opinions and just because u didn't perceive "upset," doesn't mean that I didn't or shouldn't.

It may enrage consumers. Why exclude one line or bag from PCE? They created this monster. Coach started out as an exclusive, leather brand. If you purchased one it meant something because (1) it was expensive at the time and (2) you had to save up for it if you weren't wealthy. In my opinion, the introduction of the signature lines has changed their brand. Coach is now identified by signature. People are amazed when they ask who made the leather bags I carry and I say Coach:smile1:. NOW they want to go back to way things used to be:shrugs:?

I would have to agree. They have diluted their brand and they anger the loyal consumers they have now. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. In the meantime I am finishing up some purchases and will be content for a while bag wise.

I think having the bags go on sale in the store makes much more sense than packing them up and shipping them to the outlet right away. Maybe mark them 25% off (PCE price), then if they still don't sell going to 50% off. Then if they still don't sell, THEN sending them to outlets. They do it too quickly now, IMO. I bought a wallet at FP in March, and it was on FOS in April. I wasn't upset about it, but it definitely makes me hesitate about buying anything at FP now. I'm just going to wait a month and see if it shows up at FOS. Whatever changes happen, it is what it is. If I don't like the changes or I can't afford it anymore, so be it. I'll go somewhere else.

I'm curious to know what you consider to be the angered loyal Coach consumer. Please share if you don't mind.

Loyal is not just FP. I am very loyal at allll my outlets

I completely agree. Loyalty isn't just tied to being a boutique shopper.
As far as the new business model goes, I'm one of those ppl who won't worry myself over it or even think about it until I see it being implemented.
And w/ that said, I shall quote my girl Sweet Brown once again bc it's fitting... "Ain't nobody got time for that!" ;) lol

This makes sense to me! I think it will bring more people into the boutique as they check for sales. Maybe they will be using progressive sale markdowns at the boutique for out of season or overstocked bags instead of PCE which can be used on even brand new items.
I love Coach but I don't have a problem with other brands if I don't like the changes they make.
Who knows what they will do. I have noticed more clothes and shoes in my boutique lately. I'm not sure if this a seasonal thing or part of the lifestyle approach.
