Nordstrom Return Policy Thread!!

Are you sure it's from 2004? I don't know that they put dates on the POP tags.

They are awesome about returns. I just returned a bag that I bought in July and never used. However, if it IS from 6 years ago, personally, I wouldn't return it. That just seems to be taking advantage of their return policy. It's those type of actions that make return policies stricter....

What do you mean "receipt sticker"??

I think she may be talking about the proof of purchase/return sticker that they put on the tags when you buy the item. Those "this sticker must be on the tag in order for this item to be returned" sort of stickers that say you indeed got it from that store.

I, personally think you would be taking advantage of a very good establishment and think you shouldn't attempt. I've bought merchandise at their store and have been assured by their SA's that if the product didn't live up to my expectations, they would take it back at any time, but returning an unused item after 6 years, is just uncalled for.

Nordstrom's has a great return policy. The older stickers that they used had the dates of purchase on them. The new ones don't. But, they will honor it. If you return it to the store, you can always get a store credit and buy another bag that you like there (if you want).

I agree. There is no earthly excuse why a bag could not be returned for 6 YEARS. It is people who do things like this who ruin generous return policies for other people.

I would sell it on *bay or take it to your local consignment store, perhaps even online. AFF has a great established reputation for consigning certain items. Check out her website.

Six years is too long of a time lapse to decide to return a bag, gift or not IMHO.

Crazy story: someone I know used to work for Nords and management issued a refund to a woman who wanted to return a car tire there. Apparently a tire shop used to be on the same property before it was torn down and a Nords constructed....no joke...........

Is this true? I work for the company and have never heard of this.

i've never heard of this either, i worked at nordstrom in 2007. but they do tell you this story about how some guy in seattle took back a car tires (nordstrom doesn't sell tires) because a customer wasn't satisfied.
i would be more worried that the return sticker info wouldn't be in the system for 6 years so you may not get the $175 because it would be the current selling price, right?

ok guys, so i took it in just to see what they would say, a.)it wasnt 6 years old, it was 1 1/2 years. they refunded it for the full price and i bought a gucci bag. :) just my way of saying thanks i gave them 800.00 extra in business. : )

Heck, I heard from an SA that Nordstrom's returned a handbag because a customer put her foundation in her bag and it opened up and got all over the bag. They returned the handbag with no questions asked as well as replacing the foundation.

JMO...I would not have returned it even at 1 1/2 years...I would have donated the bag to some organization that could resell it and use the money...
Nordstrom's has an excellent customer service record...customers should respect that generousity...
