Nordstrom Return Policy Thread!!

I just checked and they completely match, as you can see on the picture. The tag is the original tag btw.

Now that I see that the tag matches the receipt its even more annoying.

Again I get thats its been over 3 years since I purchased the bag. But its extremely frustrating especially after hearing and reading about Nordstroms "amazing return policy".

And the reasoning I continuously get is that "It says Chanel, not Prada"- which again isn't something I have any control over, its the person who rang it up. And now that I know that the tag matches the receipt- I mean helloooo how can you deny that the item isn't that item? ugghhhh

Sephora- now they have an AMAZING return policy. Which makes me a loyal customer

The bag has stayed under my bed for the past 3 years and never been used- I have all the original tags, receipts, Authentication cards- everything.

I called the store and spoke with the MIC (whatever that means)- he's not the store manager- but he said that the store manager will give me a call when he's back in on Friday.

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but the receipt and matching tag don't prove that the bag you want to return is that item. The tag is removed from the bag. (Just saying, from their perspective.)

On the other hand, and strongly in your favor, the number BN2172 BBE01 on the tag does seem to indicate a Prada Vitello Daino Shopper. You might point that out to them.

ETA: I'm not a Prada authenticator. The number came up on a Google search. Also the word Nero after the style number would be the color, Nero Black.

add to the lenient return policy for Nordstrom and how good they are...i just got back from returning a pair of shoes that i maybe wore 2 or 3 times very lightly used, but they did not fit as i got it as a gift and hurt my feet. I had tried to return prior without box or receipt and they did not accept it as the store manager told me they were too old to find in the system. I just recently found the box while I was moving out of my apartment with the "receipt sticker" on it (if found earlier i would have returned around the time i had gotten the shoes), so i decided to return them today. Mind you i got the shoes maybe 2 years ago. Of course when i walked in the manager gave me a hard time as she said they would not be able to find a shoe that old in the system like she did the first time, but i told her with the sticker it should be found and she still insisted that it would not. After about 15 minutes of asking her to try she then said she would give me the lowest selling price on a gift card, which I was a little unhappy about, but nonetheless i did get my return. She did tell me however that she did not think it was ethical and it was her first and last time doing something like this for me and next time she would not entertain a return like this. The shoes were very lightly used still in great condition and the soles did not even look like they were used and abused at all. Also, to add they were display shoes, so they were used by Nordstrom customers prior to purchasing for them to test them out. To finish my rant they did give me a store credit on the lowest selling price, so yes great return policy and a little bit of hassle, not exactly what i wanted to get, but still i can not complain.

Thanks for googling it!

The tag btw was never "stuck" on the bag- if that makes sense, its always been placed in the pocket of the handbag so- it was never removed as to say.

Again- I get that its over 3 years old and everything. But from all the "amazing" things I've read about Nordstrom and their return policy this seems a bit too much... I have all the receipts, all the tags, all the stickers, all the identification numbers.

I have started the process of trying to sell it online but I know I wont get the price I want for it and its such a long process :( ugghhhhh

Not sure where to post this so I hope this thread is OK...

So I always order online and I ordered 3 items last Friday and they were shipped separately. I got the 2 today in separate boxes and I noticed that there's no receipt? This is the first time it happened! I'm not feeling one of the blouses I ordered so I was thinking of returning it but now I'm not sure if I can. Can I show them my online account which should have a record of the order?

Just write the order number on a piece of paper! That's all they need :)

I bought a pair of designer shoes the other day. The receipt was stamped with a if you wear it, it can't be returned message.

Is this a new policy? It does make me think twice more because I'm worried I will be stuck with the shoes if it's defective (rather than change of heart).

I've returned shoes that were beat up (I blame the shoes bc they were so poorly made) after a year - no receipt nothing. But I never received such attitude from anyone at Nordstrom even though they couldn't find the transaction in the system. They were extremely helpful and very nice about it. Maybe it was "unethical" of me to return such shoes but I honestly felt so cheated out of my money because they're worth more than $100 but the leather clearly just ripped on more than one pair. I don't think it was right for that employee to "scold" you. It makes the customer feel belittled.

Print the email confirming your order.

What part of this were you unhappy about? You got them as a gift, they were two years old, and you had worn them. Their return policy may be lenient, but in my opinion you were taking advantage of it.

Not exactly what you wanted? I'm just wondering exactly what else you expected in a 2 year old used item return?
Lightly used or not, used is used... and shoes no less. It's not like they can resell those & the style was 2 years old.
Nordstrom goes above & beyond in my opinion. It's like when I worked the service desk at TJ maxx in college... Manager made me take back as a return clearly worn mens white undershirts with pit stains - I was like are you f'ing kidding me??? Disgusting and useless - went in the trash. Wish I had been wearing gloves.

I worked as a shoe buyer/manager/sales for Nordstrom for 6 years. MANY customers take advantage of Nordstrom's return policy. It was infuriating to see people take advantage but after awhile you realize that (most times) the customer will prevail. One of the few times they wouldn't is if they became abusive toward an employee, then they were merely asked to leave the store. I'm not sure what makes anyone think that it's o.k. to wear shoes for two years and then return them. The proper thing to do when you get a new pair of shoes is to try them on at home (preferably on a carpeted surface) to make sure they will work for you/be comfortable.
Otherwise it's just called "rent-a-pair" of shoes.
