Nordstrom Return Policy Thread!!

In Phoenix, Arizona, it also has a final clearance store even more discounted than the Rack where items that can't be sold anywhere else are sold. It is called Nordstrom Last Chance. I notice that many eBay sellers with heavily discounted Nordstrom items are from AZ.

YES. When I visited Phoenix last year, I checked out Last Chance. I thought it was the NR outlet but it was more than that. This is apparently where they sell the returned merchandise they accept.

Some examples of what I found at Last Chance. They had a bin of bras. All were $5.99- lots of great brands like LeMystere and Chantelle. The new merchandise was mixed in with clearly worn and washed bras as well. I found a white Kooba purse that someone had spilled punch or red wine on. Maybe it happened at the store, but I thought it was a return. It was still $100! There were a ton of mens suits that had been altered and then returned.

It's an interesting place. Some definite deals, but there was some pretty gross merchandise too.

Nordstrom is famous for its generous return policy. (Use Google to find the urban legend about them allowing the return of car tires!)

It is one of the few stores that still really does still believe the customer is always right.

If the purse is marked, the Nordstrom store will not take it back.
1. as many have sd -- its a rack item which Nordstrom the dept. store will not honor their 'liberal' return policy.
2. this item could be an internal sale item -- meaning the seller could be an employee who bought it at the nordstrom employee sale (employees get drastic discount for items they cannot sell on the floor) which Nordstrom mark these items so it cannot be returned for higher value.

Basically -- if you buy the choo bag it will be a final sale unless the seller takes it back, no one else would.

that's what it sounds like by the narrative. a bit shady if you ask me, it could be stolen even.

yeah... but who would then steal a USED bag?? And not aim for a NEW one, i mean ;-) Its like - if you're gonna be a criminal, then why?

(or maybe you mean like a purse-napper, not someone who'd steal from a store...)

I was told that even the SA know about the serial handbag returners and is notoriously known as buying the bag and use it for 2 months and return it and they still allow that, it's crazy!

I bought a pair of Choos from Nordstrom rack during Thanksgiving, but returned it since I felt guilty owning such an expensive pair. I don't live near any Nordstrom store so I had to return them by mail. I asked the on-line Live assistant on how to do it and I used the return label as they instructed. I waited until January 8th and the Live assistant told me that b/c of New Year's its going to take some time.

And now Nordstrom told me that there's no record and it's going to take a few days to find out what happened! I'm devastated....what if the package never reached the address? What should I do??

do you have a tracking number? the number should be on the return label....track it on the online carrier site...it should tell u where the last location of the box is at

If you buy something from a store and mail them in, it can take a REALLY long time to process a return because they have to track down which store it originated from. I returned a pair of jeans that were defective through the mail (I wasn't in range of a store when the seam decided to unravel), and it took a long time for the whole thing to get worked out - I'd say at least 6 weeks or more.

Not all designer items are final sale at NR. Their clothes and bags are, however, the shoes are not.

As a previous poster mentioned, NR and Nordstrom are not the same store. If the OP purchased the shoes from NR, the shoes must be returned to NR. NR has a 30 day return policy.

The live chat on Nordstrom.com supports purchases through Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com. If the OP returned the shoes to Nordstrom, I'm not sure Nordstrom will be able to process it. I wonder if the shoes would be returned to OP.

I've purchased shoes from NR and returned it to my local Nordstrom, a few times without incident. But returning via the mail, could be tricky as everyone else has stated
