muzmars - i went to nordies in glendale, CA yesterday and the SA and manager i spoke to and Yeah! they said you can replace it with another color that's the same leather (no patent). they asked if i wanted the bronze instead but i just wanted to black.

nat_attak, can you please tell me what other colors did Nordie have to offer other than black or bronze? Really curious...
 
update - unfortunely all the leather bowlers in lrg are all sold out in every color. (at least in SO CAL stores for sure) my SA said that so many people had called her to ask about the particular bowler that now all the bowlers are sold out according to their listing system. i know a few that still has them in lrg patent in few colors (if anyone's intersted) but they are in full price. i've located another small black patent bowler too, also full priced. i've lucked out on the black bowler from bloomingdales as well. that's a big bummer but it just wasn't meant to be. it was fun chasing all the bags though. better luck next time! :)
 
The only thing I can contribute is that the bowler did have two style numbers and skus and so if the SA looks up under one they are gone and under the other there were some still there. good luck. maggie
 
If anyone is interested...I have held two large bowlers at Nordstroms...One is the matt black the other is bronze....if interested they need to be purchased from Kendall in that she has done a lot of work to help get them for us. She can be reached at 801 261 4402..is working tonight for 30 more minutes and working tomorrow. To price match you will need the original order from Bloomies for the 40% off of the sale price showing you had a bag coming. I provided the original blog posting showing the bowler and the sale price.
The bowler turned out to be a great bag. I think I really bought it due to the price but have been amazed at how much I like it and have carried it.

Yes, they do! At least they've gladly done that for me the past few times I asked. If it's a website, just call in and give them the URL -- they can look it up (either at the store or via the 1-800- #), confirm, and then match the discount. Nordies' is the best.
